Norwich City Academy player Uriah Djedje has signed his first professional contract with the club, confirming his place as a Canary until 2025.
The 17-year old scholar put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club, which is the longest possible term for a player his age.
He said: "It's a phenomenal moment for me and my family, especially at such a good club like Norwich City. It's always been a big target for me, to get to this stage from grassroots.
"Coming from London, there's a lot of competition there and there's a lot of competition even here at Norwich, so I'm very proud of myself."
Having been at the club for seven months, Djedje has gained experience and trained with various age groups at the club, including the Under-21s, Under-18s, Under-16s and even joined a first-team training session earlier this year.
"When \[Greg\] Craney asked me to go and train with the first team, I couldn't believe it, I thought he was joking. I think I made a good impression of myself, so hopefully it happens again.
"Getting to train alongside a great legend here like Teemu Pukki, I just had to get the opportunity to speak to him. He told me everyone was in his boots once and to just be confident."
Djedje's favoured position is in the number six role as a central defensive midfielder, telling canaries.co.uk that Gabriel Sara and Liam Gibbs are two players he looks up to in the first-team squad.
"Now that the season is coming to an end and I've signed my first professional contract, my next goal is to be a regular with the Under-21s, whether that's on the bench or in the starting line-up."
