Norwich City are currently recruiting individuals to join various departments in a variety of casual and permanent roles within the club.

Finance apprentice

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting across a variety of areas within the finance function, including but not limited to; purchase ledger, sales ledger, reporting, payroll and treasury.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the accounts payable and accounts receivable inboxes.
  • Assisting with, raising and process invoices onto Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Managing the query log escalating any issues that arise.
  • Sending monthly statements.
  • Processing box office transactions.
  • Auditing expenses claims.
  • Preparation and submission of data for ASHE forms and national statistics.

Working capital associate (part-time)

This is a fantastic role for any individual that is looking to progress their career in football finance. Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate alongside the option to study towards the AAT qualification.

This role is offered on a part-time (20-25) hour basis. 

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process purchase and sales ledger invoices accurately to Microsoft GP Dynamics.
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable mailboxes to a high standard and if required, escalating any issues to the working capital manager.
  • Ensure suppliers are paid and customers have paid in line with the club’s terms and conditions, performing credit control duties and reconciling accounts.
  • Adding new suppliers and customers onto to Microsoft GP Dynamics.
  • Assist internal departments, suppliers and customers with queries if required.
  • Produce and report working capital KPI’s in a timely manner meeting any targets set by the working capital manager.
  • Close purchase and sales ledger on time in line with month end timetables.
  • Post bank payments and receipts onto Microsoft Dynamics GP, reconciling the bank accounts promptly, including coding the daily transactions accurately.
  • Process any supplier bank payments requested by the working capital manager or assistant finance director.
  • Prepare direct debit payments and AUDDIS reports, ensuring they are submitted to the bank on time.
  • Produce and reconcile balance sheet accounts to a high standard aligned to the reporting timetable.
  • Raise any purchase orders as requested by budget holders.
  • Supporting daily imports of the catering & retail EPOS systems.

Assistant management accountant

This is a fantastic role for any individual that is looking to progress their career in football finance. Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate alongside the option for further study.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Production and delivery of monthly management accounts, including the building and maintaining of relationships with budget holders.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and monthly reforecasts for both profit and loss and cash flow.
  • Completion of quarterly finance reporting packs to budget holders and their executive lead.
  • Reconciliation of monthly balance sheet accounts within your areas.
  • Providing support to the working capital team on an ad hoc basis.
  • Assist in preparation of internal KPI reports.
  • Compiling data for ONS submissions, alongside other requests for financial information from external bodies.
  • Assist in preparation of audit working papers as required by the club’s auditors.

Casual hospitality 50/50 matchday seller

This is an excellent role for someone who is hard-working, approachable, and affable with our matchday fan-base.  All matchday sellers should possess a sales-driven approach and always exercise the club’s commercial culture on matchdays.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sales of the 50/50 raffle tickets to match-going fans within the Club’s Hospitality areas
  • To reconcile the matchday sales at the end of the shift
  • To act in a manner that supports the club’s values of growth, integrity, belonging, resilience, pride and commitment

Duty manager

This is an excellent role for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic with proven experience in the catering industry, with the key responsibility being to deliver the day-to-day duties of the catering business and supervising staff to ensure customers receive the event they envisaged.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of catering functions, events and matchday areas. Ensuring a professional level of food, drink and bar service is delivered to the highest standard.
  • Delivering excellent customer service as an ambassador for Delia’s Canary Catering. Exceeding customer expectations at every opportunity, implementing and maintaining the Delia brand standard across the catering department
  • A role model for staff, providing inspirational leadership, development and training.
  • Management of casual staff, professionally addressing any performance issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, forward planning and attention to detail.
  • Ensure that all areas which the catering team are responsible for are tidied and cleaned after each event, ensuring areas remain compliant with health and safety requirements.
  • Work as a member of the front of house team when necessary, servicing any aspect of the business to ensure service excellence and efficiency.
  • Comply with food hygiene regulations, health and safety regulations and licensing laws.
