The role is fundamental to the long-term vision of Norwich City in identifying and recruiting the most talented young players for the club.
The Head of Academy Regional Recruitment will assist in the implementation of identification, recruitment and scouting strategies for the academy across the Player Performance Pathway of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) in conjunction with the Academy Head of Recruitment, whilst striving to identify and recruit the most talented young players available in adherence with the profile of player the club is seeking to recruit.
The role will oversee academy scouting Under-12s Under-18s both regionally Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Peterborough and Northern Ireland.
Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identification and recruitment of players across the Player Performance Pathway in adherence with Academy profiles
- Assist in implementing strategy for internal and external scouting regionally across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Peterborough
- Assist in implementing strategy for internal and external scouting within Northern Ireland.
- Develop and manage a network of scouts and contacts to work in support of internal and external strategies
- Manage Centres of Excellence and City Select throughout the region
- Assist in the maintenance and development of the Talent Identification database
- Implement scouting policy and protocol for scouts attending games
- Develop relationships with regional Academy and non-academy football teams
- Develop relationships with school and colleges across the region
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Academy and non-Academy players
- Covering eight games Live or Video each week.
- Lead on trialist process for players from your region alongside recruitment administrator.

- Knowledgeable and possess experience of working within the football environment
- Experience of working within a professional football club academy at related age groups
- Proficient in the use of technology

1. FA Talent Identification Level 3
2. UEFA B Licence
