Vacancy: Head of Technical Scouting

Location: Lotus Training Centre
Contract and Hours: 40 hours per week, as and when required

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Scouting & Recruitment department at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Head of Technical Scouting. Reporting to the Head of Recruitment, the Head of Technical Scouting will have overall responsibility for the Technical Scouting team, leading on the application of modern scouting methods to support the talent identification & recruitment process whilst driving growth and innovation across the department.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Management of the Technical Scout team, strategy and processes to drive evidence based practice.

· Manage the identification, prioritisation and monitoring of players from senior and emerging talent markets.

· Lead of the application of data analytics within the scouting and recruitment process.

· Conduct extensive video scouting and analysis to identify and assess talent.

· Organise video analysis processes to ensure player analysis and databases are maintained and accessible.

· Facilitate the creation of detailed player videos, dossiers and presentations.

· Oversee the collation, management and co-ordination of scouting information and market intelligence.

· Maintain active Technical Scouting shortlists.

· Develop relationships within the scouting and recruitment department, delegating and co-ordinating appropriately.

· Innovate and continually improve the methodology of talent identification and analysis processes.

· Ensure effective communication and collaboration exists to drive innovation and growth.

Knowledge & Experience

· Relevant academic/vocational qualifications.

· Extensive experience working within professional football in a Technical Scouting or Analysis role.

· Broad understanding of talent identification and recruitment processes.

· Completed or working towards FA Level 3 Talent Identification qualification – desirable.

· Experience leading and managing people.

Technical Skills

· Proficient in the use of industry leading video analysis tools such as SBG Matchtracker/Focus and CoachPaint.

· Experience of applying data to support the talent idenfication and recruitment process successfully.

· Experience of applying data to support the talent identification and recruitment process successfully.

· Skilled in the use of Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau.

· Proven ability of designing and implementing successful processes.

· Effective communicator.

· Passionate about football and identifying talent.
