An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join Norwich City Football Club as Legal and Governance Director.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic legal services of the highest standard to the board, the executive committee and the club in general.
Duties of the role will also include providing proactive legal and business focused advice for all areas of the club ensuring risk mitigation and regulatory compliance, as well as advising on and effective management of legal and governance issues at the club.
The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting skills, sound judgement and diplomacy as well as first rate attention to detail. We are looking for someone whose strengths include the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders across the club.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified solicitor of around 5 + PQE
- Qualified to practice law in England and Wales and have (and maintain) a valid practising certificate
- Strong academic background and solid training from a reputable law firm or recognised in-house legal department.
- Capable of building strong relationships both internally and externally, in particular with senior stakeholders within the business.
- Capable of drafting commercial contracts autonomously with an ability to see wider commercial issues.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of sports-related work is preferable but not essential.
