Norwich City Football Club are looking to recruit a senior physiotherapist on a full-time basis. The successful individual will report to the head of medical services, and will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of rehabilitation strategies following injury and illness and assisting in the clinical preparation of first team players.
Based at the Lotus Training Centre, the role requires the successful candidate to work throughout the football season on a full-time basis, which will include evenings and weekends around the training and match schedules of the first team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an ambitious football club and as such we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong knowledge and passion for all areas of physiotherapy.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the clinical diagnosis and management of illness and injuries associated with the first team and other squads as required.
- Lead in the profiling for injury and illness predisposition and in the design of the club's injury risk management programme and its implementation within the first team.
- Lead in the design and delivery of the club's anti-doping strategy including the delivery of impactful educational resource and Whereabouts reporting.
- Lead the monitoring and delivery of remote medical support services to all first team players out on loan.
- Assist, as required, in the clinical preparation of the playing squad on both training and matchdays, home and away.
- Maintain a comprehensive, indexed database of note keeping in accordance with professional standards requirement.
- Assist in writing and continually updating the department’s standard operating procedures and executing additional tasks as required in order to meet the football club’s changing priorities.
Qualifications and experience
Essential
- HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
- MSc or working towards an MSc in Physiotherapy or a related subject
- Minimum of five years’ experience working within the elite sport industry (preferably football)
- Live ATMMiF certificate
Desirable
- MACP Registered
- Recognised strength and conditioning qualification (e.g. NSCA, CSCS or UKSCA)
