An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join the catering department at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Sous Chef.

This is an excellent role for someone who is an excellent communicator, has an open-minded attitude and is a pro-active problem solver.

The successful candidate will need to be capable of working in all parts of the business, with particular focus on the matchday carvery and events elements.

Hours of work will be 40 a week, any five days out of seven as agreed, including matchdays. The position will involve working at weekends, evenings, and some bank holidays, so you must be able to work unsociable hours.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and serve food items for all restaurant areas within the catering department at Norwich City Football Club, working to pre-set recipes.
  • Oversee the running of a matchday area, producing a variety of dishes in line with menus and customer requirements.
  • Supervise junior and casual chefs in the team to ensure that all the recipes are followed accurately to maintain levels of quality and minimize waste.
  • Manage stock levels, storage areas and undertake stock takes.
  • Liaise with the Back of House Manager to monitor cost of sales, wastage, and staffing percentages, working within the Catering budget.
  • Motivate, lead and supervise the kitchen brigade, including kitchen porters.
  • Maintain and record all aspects of food hygiene to meet Health and Safety Legislation / Requirements and the Club’s Food Management System.
