Voting is now open of the Norwich City Player of the Month award for August.

The Canaries played a total of eight first team fixtures throughout the course of the month. Across six league games there were four victories, one draw and one defeat.

In the Carabao Cup, City progressed on penalties against Birmingham City but were on the wrong end of a shootout defeat against AFC Bournemouth.

The players nominated for the August award are Josh Sargent, Marcelino Núñez, Grant Hanley and Andrew Omobamidele.

USA international striker Sargent registered four goals in a three-game period over the course of the month. He opened the scoring against Huddersfield Town in a 2-1 win at Carrow Road before three days later netting a brace in a 2-0 home win over Millwall.

Sargent was once again the match-winner with a late goal away at Sunderland in a narrow 1-0 victory.

Following his arrival from Universidad Católica, midfielder Núñez also caught the eye with a string of high-energy performances.

He scored a spectacular free kick in the club’s 2-1 defeat away at Hull City and made a total of seven appearances over the course of the month.

Defensive duo Hanley and Omobamidele complete the list of nominees. Skipper Hanley turned in a standout performance in the victory at Sunderland whilst Omobamidele has also impressed at the back and netting the equalising goal in the comeback victory away at Birmingham City.
