New Norwich City head coach David Wagner sat down with Canaries TV to discuss his new position and his immediate thoughts on the club.
The German takes over a Norwich team sitting in 11th place in the Sky Bet Championship, albeit just three points off fifth.
In this position, Wagner says that he is ready to 'hunt' the play-off spots over the coming weeks.
"I think it makes no sense to look too far ahead," Wagner says.
"Now, we have dropped out of the top 10 so we are in the position to hunt, to hunt for the top 10, to hunt for the top six, to hunt for promotion.
"What is important is that you take everything step by step. It can be quite exciting to be a hunter and this is what we are now."
With the FA Cup taking precedence for his first game as Canaries boss this weekend, he was also quick to remind that it will be a step-by-step approach.
He will be asking his team and coaches to look at the immediate goals in front of them.
"It’s important to finish what was in the past, to draw a line and really look forward," Wagner added.
"This is what we have to do and we can’t do it on our own, that’s always the case. If you want to have success, you can only do it as a group, as a group of players, as a backroom staff, as a football club in general, and a huge part is played by supporters.
"It’s something very special for me to be here in Norwich, to be back in England, everything came very fast and it’s very exciting.
"There are expectations and it makes sense to face those. But, as I said, don’t look too far ahead. Make sure you wake up in the morning, leave your ego in the car park, do your work and try to perform, to improve and to develop."
