Norwich City head coach David Wagner says his side made some good progression, as they continued their pre-season preparations with a goalless draw against Kaiserslautern.
The draw ends a week in Germany, with the Canaries recording a 1-0 win over Darmstadt before today's draw, and Wagner believes it has been a good week for him and his squad.
"The week as a whole and the game was good, but not perfect. It looks like there's a serious injury to Jonathan Tomkinson. This is the only real set-back we had here," he said.
"Apart from this, I can say it was a perfect week. The set-up we had here in Germany was great. Good locations, good opponents, good set-ups in general. The distances were not too far, they were very good games that we had.
"I think we made some good progression, good steps. I like how the players fought, how the group starts to gel, and to fight to keep the ball out of the net.
"We kept two clean sheets in these two games, and had moments. I thought for the first 30 minutes we were good. Some situations were not good. All in all, I thought it was decent for pre-season in these two games.
As for the remainder of the pre-season, Wagner is happy to have some more additions joining the squad in the coming days.
"We'll fly back today, and have Sunday off. We start again on Monday for our next pre-season week. We're about halfway through pre-season and have a few weeks to go," he added.
"We have the trip to Alkmaar, where we will play another strong side, and I expect us to continue what we've done here. Hopefully, we'll make some further steps and progressions.
"We have a lot of things we can continue to do. A lot of training and a lot of work. Where we are, apart from the two injuries that we've had, I think we're in a very good place."
