Norwich City midfielder Kieran Dowell signed for the Club on July 30, 2020.
To celebrate his one-year anniversary with the Canaries, let’s take a look at all six of his goals from the 2020/21 season!
Goal 1 vs Luton Town (Carabao Cup Round One) - August 5, 2020
Making his competitive debut for City, Dowell began this cup tie on the right wing with Marco Stiepermann playing as the number ten.
After James Collins gave the Hatters the lead from the spot in the 79th minute, City responded instantly as Dowell combined with Mario Vrancic, Stiepermann and Onel Hernandez in a delightfully intricate move approaching the 18-yard box.
When the ball dropped for Dowell, all that was left to do was place it into the bottom right corner without taking a touch.
Goal 2 vs Nottingham Forest (Sky Bet Championship) - March 17, 2021
Dowell had to wait until March of 2021 for his next City goal and it came in a professional 2-0 win against one of his former clubs, Nottingham Forest.
City started the match brightly, Teemu Pukki giving the Canaries the lead in the ninth minute before Dowell made it two in the 13th.
Oliver Skipp sent the ball forward, picking out Dowell in time and space, who played a neat one-two with Lukas Rupp before accurately smashing it into the bottom right corner from distance.
Goal 3 vs Huddersfield Town (Sky Bet Championship) - April 6, 2021
City were already 4-0 up by the time Dowell got his third goal for the club in April’s thrashing of Huddersfield Town.
In the blustery weather conditions at Carrow Road, Dowell put the result beyond doubt on the brink of half-time by way of a couple of beautiful one-twos with Emi Buendia.
Goal 4 vs Derby County (Sky Bet Championship) - April 10, 2021
Just four days later, Norwich continued marching towards the Championship title with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Derby County.
It was Dowell’s pinpoint first-half free-kick, placed neatly to David Marshall’s left, that ensured City took all three points back to Norfolk.
Goals 5 and 6 vs Reading (Sky Bet Championship) - May 1, 2021
Promotion had been secured, all that was left to do was win the Sky Bet Championship!
After Josh Laurent gave the Royals an early lead, Dowell capitalised on a defensive mistake to equalise.
In the 64th minute, City finally took the lead when Todd Cantwell played a lovely ball over the top to Dowell, who had drifted behind the Reading defence. He found the far corner from a narrow angle for 2-1. Norwich went on to finish the match as 4-1 winners!
