Norwich City were unable to take home points from their trip to Vicarage Road after Watford came from behind to win 3-2 in Tuesday night's Sky Bet Championship fixture.
Danny Batth and Hwang Ui-Jo got their names on the scoresheet early on in the match, but it was the Hornets who would come out on top as they clawed back to win.
David Wagner made just one change to his starting 11 against QPR on Saturday, bringing in Adam Idah up top for Ashley Barnes.
It was the perfect start for the Canaries as they went ahead inside three minutes, thanks to a Gabriel Sara corner that found the head of Batth, who claimed his first goal for the club.
Sara would claim his second assist with just 12 minutes on the clock, as a sensational strike from Hwang outside the area put Norwich ahead by two.
Not long after his wonder-strike, City were forced into a substitution as the Korean international looked to pick up an injury and was subsequently replaced by Ashley Barnes.
The pressing from the away side continued past the half-hour mark, with efforts from Idah and Shane Duffy forced behind for corners.
Their efforts were rewarded at 31 minutes, when Ismaël Koné's strike beat George Long and found the back of the net to make it 2-1.
It took just three minutes for Watford to turn things around, when former Canary Jamal Lewis crossed to Mileta Rajović in the box and his header found the bottom corner.
Idah had the next promising chance for the Canaries, after Onel Hernández picked him out down the left, but the number 11 could only find the chest of Ben Hamer in goal.
Long kept the score level in injury time after punching away Yáser Asprilla's powerful effort on the edge of the box.
Kayembe also had a go moments later, but couldn't find the target before the break.
The second half opened with plenty of Watford possession and once again Long was called upon to tip away a looping ball heading goal-ward.
Watford were close to turning the game on its head when a strike from Koné rattled the cross bar just inside 60 minutes.
With just under 15 minutes of normal time to play, the hosts pounced on a scramble in the box and the ball eventually ended up in the back of the net thanks to Asprilla, making it 3-2.
Late substitute Borja Sainz jumped straight in on the action, as a Sara corner found his feet and his effort was punched away to safety by Hamer for City's final attack.
The Canaries are back in Championship action on Sunday as they travel to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City.
