Norwich City Women are back in action under the lights on Tuesday evening as they host AFC Sudbury in their second Division One South East fixture in three days.
An important victory over league-leaders Chatham Town on Sunday afternoon meant the Canaries rose to third in the table, two points off the top spot.
Holly Kennard was at the double for City, scoring the opener inside six minutes and then the winner with less than 15 minutes left on the clock.
The Opposition
The Suds are now into their second season of Division One South East football, having been promoted at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
Based in Suffolk, our visitors travel just over 50 miles sitting in seventh place, six points behind the Canaries.
In 14 fixtures, they have collected six wins, with five draws and three losses.
Sunday's outing saw them lose out to Cambridge United in a 2-0 defeat on home turf.
Earlier in the season, they picked up big results against high-flying Actonians, where a 1-1 draw away from home was secured with the help of a goal from Eva Frazzoni as well as an impressive win at Champion Hill against Dulwich Hamlet.
Jessica Allen is top scorer with nine goals so far this season, last netting against Ashford Town in October.
Last Time Out
These two sides met in another midweek fixture back in September, City settling for a point in a dramatic tie at the Mel Group Stadium.
Tamsin Medd-Gill nodded the visitors in front early on, but Allen found an equaliser after 70 minutes to rescue a point for the home side.
Kennard was sent to the dressing room early, as she was shown two yellow cards in the second half.
Head-to-Head
In the four meetings between City and Sudbury, the Canaries have come out on top three times, with one draw from earlier this season.
The first tie last season was hosted by the Suds, Freya Symonds scoring a dramatic late winner from a free-kick in injury time to claim all three points on the opening day of the 2023/24 campaign.
Later on in that season, it was a much more convincing win for the Canaries on home ground, as they ran out 4-1 winners at The Nest.
Natasha Snelling, Lauren Hailes and Ceri Flye were on the scoresheet that day, Aliyat Lambe claiming the consolation goal for the visitors.
