Women's Preview | Norwich City v Chatham Town

Norwich City Women prepare to host Chatham Town at The Nest this weekend for another important tie in Division One South East.

Norwich City Women prepare to host Chatham Town at The Nest this weekend for another important tie in Division One South East.

The match takes place on Sunday, February 9, in a 2pm kick-off.

For the second week running, Andy Cook's squad face the side at the top of the table, after Town's win last weekend and the Canaries' point against Real Bedford meant Chatham leapfrogged the then-league leaders.

The Opposition

Having been relegated from the Southern Premier Division at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, Chatham have had no problem fighting for a promotion spot back up to Tier 3.

Town’s journey to the top spot comes from nine wins, four draws and only one loss all season, leaving them on 31 points; five ahead of City.

Their only defeat came against Actonians in their second fixture of the campaign, a tie that ended 1-0 after a solo goal from Dior Knorr.

They have won each of their last three away league fixtures, facing London Bees (2-1), London Seaward (3-1) and Chesham United (3-1).

Top scorer Otesha Charles is on 10 league goals so far in this campaign, most recently netting against Cambridge United.

This weekend will be the first time that these two sides have faced each other this season, having had the initial home fixture postponed in September.
