Norwich City Women face top-of-the-table Real Bedford this weekend, with a trip to The Eyrie in a Division One South East tie.

The match takes place on Sunday, February 2, in an updated kick-off time of 4.30pm.

After an unbeaten start to the calendar year, Andy Cook's side will be hoping to close the gap on the league leaders.

City picked up maximum points in their opening three league fixtures in January, beating London Seaward (1-0), Ashford Town (7-0) and Dulwich Hamlet (4-0).

The Opposition

Sunday's hosts have enjoyed a rise to the top of Division One South East, having only earned promotion from the Eastern Region Women’s Football League at the end of last season.

With 29 points after eight wins and five draws, the Pirates remain unbeaten and have only conceded eight goals in the entire campaign.

Bedford's most recent outing saw them host AFC Sudbury in a 4-0 win at the Ledger Stadium, top-scorer Abbie Bensted scoring twice early on to help her side to another victory.

The forward has 15 goals to her name this season, scoring five in one game in a 12-2 win over Chesham United back in October.

Last time out

These two sides met for the first time in the opening stages of the season, the fixture ending in a stalemate at The Nest.

Both sides had opportunities to take all three points on the day; Eloise Morran coming close late in the game and Sarah Quantrill making an important save to deny Amy McLean in a one-on-one.
