Norwich City Women secured a late victory against Cambridge United Women, Freya Symonds netting the winner in a 2-1 win on the road.
After initially going ahead from a Grace Riglar penalty, Cambridge struck back with less than 20 minutes on the clock but it wasn't enough to deny City as Symonds won it in the 89th minute.
The first corner came for City in the 13th minute of the game, Lara Densley delivering from the left to find Riglar rising highest, but the defender was blocked by United's stopper Lauren Webb.
The second shot of the game was sent in by Natasha Snelling but she dragged her effort narrowly wide of the right post.
A great interception from Issy Moore set-up Holly Kennard racing down the left wing but Webb was able to smother the shot at goal.
Kennard then wont the Canaries a free-kick on the edge of the area that Snelling stepped up to take and was only inches too high of the target.
A quick throw-in then lead to a City attack in the box, Moore getting the final shot with a header from close-range but her effort went over the Cambridge bar.
Another Riglar header fell just wide, marking City's fifth chance in the first 20 minutes.
Webb was forced to parry away a powerful shot from Kennard with 35 minutes on the clock, City still unable to find an opener.
United had a spell of possession late in the first half, their best chance coming from a ball flashing across goal but no orange shirts were in the right place to tap home for a goal.
City were then awarded a penalty on the brink of half-time as a Cambridge defender was deemed to have handled the ball in the area.
Riglar stepped up to take it and converted for the last chance of the half.
Snelling poked the ball through for Moore in the area who was unable to round Webb but the ball fell to Symonds who tried to set up Densley in the six-yard box but her header landed over the bar.
Cambridge earned a free-kick deep in Norwich's half, a shot from Rebecca Stephenson firing over the bar for the hosts' best chance of the game.
United then caught the visitors on the break, Jade Bell crossing into the box for Sarah Quantrill to initially parry the ball away but captain Zoe Wood was able to poke home the loose ball for the equaliser.
With just minutes left on the clock, City brought some fresh legs on to continue applying the pressure and were eventually awarded in the 89th minute.
Symonds worked hard to get herself into space on the edge of the area and rifled an effort into the top corner.
The win puts the Canaries on 27 points and keeps the heat on league leaders Fulham.
