After going behind twice, Norwich City Women clawed their way back in injury time for a 2-2 draw against Chesham United on Sunday afternoon.
Andy Cook made three changes to his side that beat Brighton and Hove Albion Academy in the FAWNL Plate, including bringing in Millie Daviss at right-back for her first league start of the season.
Both sides started the game with high energy, but neither were able to take full control, as the first 45 minutes finished goalless.
A Natasha Snelling free-kick was first to worry the hosts, but her effort could only land on the roof of the net.
Chesham had a shot from range but Sarah Quantrill was untroubled and the effort went wide of the left post.
Shannon Shaw went closer with a header from a corner after 30 minutes but Nicole Spittle in goal was ready and waiting to make the catch.
A great link-up between Holly Kennard and Freya Symonds found Snelling in the box on a charge, but the forward was at an awkward angle on arrival and shot just wide.
The number 10 had another go soon after, this time from outside the area, but could only manage a shot off-target.
A brilliant ball from Symonds reached Shaw, but her second touch was just too heavy and fell into the hands of Spittle.
An important save from Quantrill kept the score at 0-0 just five minutes from the break, as Natalia Makowska broke free and crossed to Gemma Fraser out wide, but the City stopper stood strong and collected.
The Norwich number one then followed that up with another great save, punching away a shot from Fraser again, to give the hosts a corner.
The second half was short-lived for Daviss, who picked up a knock and was subsequently replaced by Ella Powell.
Kennard and Powell had consecutive shots at Spittle, who parried away both to prevent the deadlock from being broken.
A corner won by Shaw fell to Lauren Hailes on the edge of the box, who found the target, but fired straight at the Chesham 'keeper.
City started to pick up the tempo with some fresh legs with 25 minutes to go, consecutive shots came from Powell and Snelling but Spittle made no mistake in goal.
Down the other end, Chesham had a burst of energy and, on the break, Fraser found space to lob Quantrill and provide a lead for the hosts.
It took City a little while to settle again, but substitute Ellie Smith found Powell in space, who shot from the edge of the area and found the top corner for an equaliser.
The score remained level for all of one minute, as United regained control and Fraser shot from distance again to restore Chesham's lead.
It looked almost over for the Canaries, but in the dying minutes, a corner from Moore became a scramble in the box and Flye got on the end of it to rescue a point for Norwich City.
Quantrill was required to make an excellent save at the last kick of the game to deny Chesham from a winner in a one-on-one.
City are next in action on Tuesday evening, when they travel to AFC Sudbury for a 7.45pm kick-off in Division One South East.
