Women's Report | London Bees 3-3 Norwich City

A thrilling game at The Hive ended in a 3-3 draw for Norwich City Women against London Bees in Division One South East, Shannon Shaw picking up a hat-trick for the Canaries.

Andy Cook's side looked like they might take the win with 20 minutes to go but an injury-time equaliser from the Bees saw the points shared.

After an unsettled opening 10 minutes from the Canaries, the breakthrough was found when Lauren Tomlinson made an excellent run down the left to find Shaw the wrong side of her defender in the box.

The forward headed home for her third in two games.

The lead lasted all of seven minutes though, as a cross from Sophie Lee into the box found Samantha Lanza, who netted the equaliser from close-range.

Sarah Quantrill was required to be alert to a dangerous ball in, punching away a stray ball off the line shortly after the response from Bees.

A rifling strike from Millie Daviss on the half-hour mark evaded all defenders in the box but Tia Ginn stood strong to palm away.

City stopper Quantrill made a flurry of important stops to keep the game level shortly after.

A mistake from Ginn nearly costs the hosts a goal, as she failed to clear a floating ball deep into the Bees' half, but neither Shaw or Daviss could beat the defenders running back to cover the 'keeper.

On the brink of 45 minutes, Bees then went ahead, replicating their first goal from a corner headed in again by Lanza.

The second half opened with much of the same intensity from Bees, but it was City who found an early goal.

Tomlinson and Shaw replicated the first goal down to the positioning, the winger crossing in from the left and Shaw rounding her defenders to head home the equaliser with just three minutes of the half gone.

Some fresh City legs on the hour mark made things even harder for the hosts, as a scramble in the box and initial good save from Ginn allowed Shaw to complete her hat-trick, firing home for hers and Norwich's third.

Bees weren't finished there though, and found a late equaliser through Hayley Hoare in their final push.

It's back to cup action next weekend as they face Cambridge United away in the FA Cup.
