Norwich City Women rode out a 1-0 win at The Nest to pick up another three points in Division One South East, thanks to an early goal from Holly Kennard.
The winger has now been on the scoresheet eight times this season, with her goal helping the Canaries move back up to first in the table.
There was plenty of rotation in Andy Cook's starting 11 from City's last league outing, with seven changes from the win over AFC Sudbury.
The challenging conditions played a significant role in the match, as strong winds dictated much of the ball's movement, making control difficult for both teams.
A long throw-in early on from Lauren Tomlinson reached Megan Todd in the six-yard box but was gathered by Erin Radbourne in goal for United.
Just 12 minutes in and City had the lead through Kennard, a quick through ball and a close-range cross from Olivia Cook falling right into her path and with one touch she fired past Radbourne, rooted to the spot.
The visitors had their first effort after 20 minutes on the clock, a long-range strike from a hopeful Niamh Euman, but Sarah Quantrill scooped it up with ease.
Natasha Snelling then wanted in on the action, poking towards goal from inside the area but Radbourne was there to deny a City second.
A powerful shot from Stephanie Weston was then punched away by Quantrill in another effort from Chesham.
A brilliant run from Kennard kept the ball alive in a dangerous Norwich attack, the winger crossing for Freya Symonds who headed just wide of the target.
Sienna Booty also had an effort parried away after Symonds found her on the edge of the area.
City stayed on top of play for the remainder of the half, closing with a corner scrambled away from danger.
Watson was first to have a shot in the second half, finding space to strike from the edge of the area, but her effort fell wide.
A lovely slicing cross from Cook had too much on it to connect well with Snelling waiting in the box.
Symonds then made a driving run through the middle to allow herself a shot from the edge of the area but Radbourne got low to collect.
Division One top scorer Gemma Fraser had her first effort of the game stifled by Quantrill, whose safe hands were there to deny an equaliser with an hour played.
The game levelled out with fresh legs introduced, Ellie Smith playing more vital minutes following a spell out through injury.
City continued to hold onto possession and saw the game out for a seventh game unbeaten in a row.
The Canaries are back in action on Sunday, March 9, when they travel to Chatham Town. Coach travel is available to purchase here.
