Norwich City Women ran out convincing winners in their opening day Division One South East fixture, beating Actonians Women 4-0 on home turf.
Two fantastic strikes from Ellie Bishop and Holly Kennard opened the scoring, alongside goals for Natasha Snelling and Grace Riglar.
With newly-announced captain Sarah Quantrill on the sidelines with a hand injury, Holly Mears stepped in between the sticks and Riglar wore the armband for the Canaries.
Kennard had the first attempt at goal, a ball in from Millie Daviss crossed her path in the box but the winger couldn't get enough on it to test Elisa Dogor in goal for the visitors.
A hit from Molly O'Reilly went well wide after an Actonians corner in the fifth minute for the first attack from the visitors.
City then had their breakthrough with a lovely strike from Bishop in the 23rd minute.
The ball fell to her from outside the area and with her second touch she rattled the crossbar, the ball bouncing over the line and a goal given.
Actonians tried to respond immediately, O'Reilly getting a shot inside the area that was only narrowly wide of Mears' goal.
An awkward shot from Snelling forced Dogor to tip the effort behind for a Norwich corner.
A trademark Olivia Cook throw-in found Evie Williams in the box to knock a ball into the feet of Riglar, who volleyed an effort into the hands of Dogor.
City enjoyed a strong spell in the opening minutes of the second half, Freya Symonds striking a ball that was only narrowly high of the bar.
The lead was then doubled by another fantastically struck effort, this time from Kennard.
The winger stole possession deep in the Actonians half and fired a strike into an empty net, catching Dogor out from her goal-kick.
City continued to enjoy more spells of possession, Snelling having successive efforts only marginally off-target and a long-range effort from Eloise King came close to a third for City.
Things were then made even harder for the hosts as captain Jennie Brereton was shown a red card for bringing down Snelling as the last player through on goal.
The forward eventually found her goal, Snelling tapping in an effort from close-range to extend the lead with four minutes on the clock.
A penalty was then awarded in the 90th minute after excellent play from Lauren Hailes, who stole the ball on the edge of the area and after rounding her defender was brought down in the box.
Riglar stepped up and slotted the ball cooly into the bottom left corner for Norwich's fourth.
The Canaries are back at The Nest on Tuesday night in the first group stage tie of the FAWNL League Cup against Peterborough United.
