Norwich City Women exited the FAWNL Plate competition following a 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion Under-21s at The Nest.
After the visitors took an early lead, Issy Moore levelled the scores inside 10 minutes but City couldn't prevent a second from Elliana Martin and the PGA side.
There was just one change to the side that beat Chesham United 9-2 last weekend in Division One South East; Olivia Cook replacing Holly Kennard in her absence.
The first City attack was created by Moore who managed to fight for the ball and set up Lara Densley down the right, whose cross was tipped away but only as far as Cook, who had an effort from inside the area.
Brighton then found the opener in the fourth minute through Martin, who managed to break down the right, cut inside and roll her effort past Holly Mears and into the back of the net.
City responded immediately to the goal, finding an equaliser inside 10 minutes.
A loose pass from Silvana Marshall-Miranda in goal allowed Moore to intercept deep in Brighton's half and fire home to make it 1-1.
A corner taken by Densley was met my Grace Riglar rising highest but the City captain could only fire over the bar.
A free-kick taken by Taylor Warren was heading goalward but narrowly flew over the bar just before the half-hour mark.
The long throws kept coming for Norwich, Cook meeting a scramble in the middle of the box and eventually setting up Moore on the edge of the area but Marshall-Miranda cleared the danger.
The Under-21s side retook the lead 10 minutes before the break, Martin netting her second of the match with a low strike at goal.
Cook was able to find space on the edge of the area shortly after and shoot with her second touch but the Seagulls stopper was alert to the danger.
Brighton kicked-off the second half but it was City who were on the front foot for the most of the final 45 minutes.
A fantastic interception from Evie Williams helped City to break down the left, the full-back then able to drag a cross back but with too many bodies in the box, no yellow shirts were able to get a convincing shot on target.
Ceri Flye was denied at point-blank range from consecutive set-pieces, the first a Cook throw-in and again from a Densley corner.
The substitute Brighton stopper was forced to punch the second effort onto the bar, her defenders clearing the attack.
Despite intense pressure until the final whistle, the Canaries were unable to pull one back and were ultimately knocked out of the competition.
Andy Cooks's side return to league action next Sunday, travelling to Chatham Town in a 2.30pm kick-off.
