Norwich City Women ended their regular league season on a high as they were on the right side of a seven goal thriller at Carrow Road against Cambridge United on Sunday afternoon.
Issy Moore netted the opener in the first-half, whilst Natasha Snelling was on target twice in quick succession for the second and third.
Holly Kennard and Freya Symonds sealed the win with a goal for the winger and two for the midfielder.
Andy Cook made six changes to the side that beat Dulwich Hamlet 4-1 on the road earlier this month; Sarah Quantrill, Evie Williams, Millie Daviss, Poppy Groves, Lara Densley and Snelling making their way back into the starting 11.
City's first attack came on the right from Groves, who sent a ball goalward but neither Densley or Kennard could get on the end of the cross in the box.
The two wingers then linked up well together on the break to force a shot from the home side, only to be denied by Lauren Webb in goal.
Daviss then took a run down the right from one box to another, pulling the ball back to Moore in plenty of space but her effort was blocked inside the area.
Grace Riglar saw her header blocked before a brilliant cross from Emily Wallace reached Moore again but she could only poke wide.
A free-kick for Cambridge United after 40 minutes played was their best chance of breaking the deadlock, but Tally Miles' cross flew past every shirt in the box and went out for a goal kick.
Daviss then rattled the cross-bar in injury time of the first half before Moore eventually netted the opener soon after.
A ball in from Kennard found Densley on the left in the area, who cut a ball across goal to find Moore to slot home from inside the six-yard box.
City then doubled the lead not long after the restart, as Moore collected the ball down the right and rounded Webb to find Snelling in the area, who only had to tap the ball home.
The goalscorer delivered a free-kick into the area just inside the United half and reached the head of Williams but she was unable to find the target.
Miles stood over a free-kick down the other end but Quantrill was equal to the strike and collected with ease.
The lead was then extended by Snelling again, this time making a run down the left and firing home into the bottom right corner.
Kennard then made it four just six minutes later, tucking the ball away in identical fashion to Snelling's second.
After Quantrill had initially done well to deny Jade Bell at point-blank range, Miles picked up the rebound and fired home a consolation goal for the visitors with 15 minutes left on the clock.
City were not done there though, as Ceri Flye did well to keep the ball in play and fired the ball across the six-yard box for Symonds to turn it in from close-range.
As the game was drawing to a close, Wallace had a shot from the corner of the box that was only narrowly too high of the target.
Symonds then doubled her goal tally in the fourth minute of injury time when Groves floated a cross from the right for her to head home for the sixth of the afternoon.
The Canaries are back in action next Sunday in their all-important play-off final against Moneyfields at the Pirelli Stadium (KO 1pm).
