Norwich City Women pulled off a thrilling second-half comeback, defeating London Bees 2-1 in their final match of the 2024/25 season at The Nest.
After initially going behind through Samantha Gabian Lanza in the first half, goals from Natasha Snelling and Ceri Flye were enough to take all three points.
There were no changes to the starting 11 that picked up all three points against Chatham Town in a 2-0 away win earlier this month, only Ellie Smith coming in for Lara Densley on the bench.
City started well at both ends of the pitch, having to display some defensive tactics in the opening minutes and working well to catch the visitors on the break.
Megan Todd had the first chance of the game, Millie Daviss setting her up for a header in the box, but Bees stopper Tia Ginn leapt high to collect.
A low shot from Lauren Tomlinson shortly after proved just too soft, Ginn smothering to keep the scores level.
Sarah Quantrill made a brilliant double save after a free-kick from Hayley Hoare had to be punched behind and a shot from the edge of the area was fired goalward from the resulting corner.
A lovely strike from the outside of Olivia Cook's boot was fired just wide of the target with half an hour played.
Bees then took the lead with 35 minutes on the clock, a low strike from Lanza finding the back of the net to put the visitors one up.
Fortunately for City, Bees had a second ruled offside not long after the opener, the visitors poking in an effort after a scramble in the box.
To close the half, both Eloise Morran and Holly Kennard had shots on goal, but neither could find an equaliser before the break.
City wasted no time finding the equaliser in the opening minute of the second half, Freya Symonds slotting the perfect pass to Snelling, who found the back of the net with just 15 seconds of the half gone.
Just six minutes later and the Canaries had turned the game on its head.
A Tomlinson corner flew across the goal and found Flye at the back post, who nodded home to make it 2-1.
On set-piece duty for the Bees, Hoare stood over another free-kick in a dangerous position, only narrowly evading Rebekah Wozniak waiting in the box.
City thought they had a third after Todd nodded in a floating ball inside the six-yard box, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on Ginn.
Bees continued to push for an equaliser, but to no avail, meaning the Canaries extended their unbeaten run to 10 in all competitions.
Andy Cook's side are next in action on Wednesday, April 9, in the semi-final of the Harrod Sport Women's Cup, where they face Wroxham Women at the FDC.
