Introduction

The 50/50 Raffle (the “Lottery”) will be operated as a ticketed Society Lottery under the Gambling Act 2005 as amended from time to time (the “Act”). The Lottery is promoted by Norwich City Football Club plc (company number 00154044) (licence numbers 004713-N-309329-013 and 004713-R-311596-011) and conducted for the benefit of Norwich City Football Club Academy.

The Lottery is administered by the Lotteries Department of Norwich City Football Club plc.

These Rules apply to playing participants of the Lottery. The terms of the Social Responsibility Statement are incorporated within these Rules.

1. Definitions

“Act” The Gambling Act 2005 as amended from time to time.

“BACs” The organisation with responsibility for the settlement of UK automated payment systems, including direct debits.

“Chance” Each individual Game Number entered into the Lottery on behalf of a participant.

“Draw” The process by which winners are selected.

“Game Number” The number unique to each entry used to identify individual Chances which are entered into the Lottery.

“Lottery” The 50/50 Raffle.

“NCFC” Norwich City Football Club plc.

“OneCity Account” means an account on the NCFC website: www.canaries.co.uk

“Promoter” The registered promoter of the Lottery.

“Rules” The rules of the 50/50 Raffle as set out below and amended from time to time.

“Social Responsibility Statement” The statement entitled ‘Social Responsibility’ produced by NCFC and amended from time to time, as set out on the NCFC lotteries website HERE

“Society” The lottery society operated by NCFC.

“Winning Number” The number as detailed in Rule 6.1.

2. Entry into the 50/50 Raffle

2.1 The Lottery is promoted in accordance with the Act. In order to comply with the Act and to purchase Chances you will be required to confirm that:

·        You are at least 18 years of age.

·        You are resident in Great Britain.

·        You will not buy or claim to buy Chances on behalf of any other person.

2.2 If, upon winning any prize in the Lottery, you are not able to prove that you have met all of the criteria specified in Rule 2.1 above then you will not be entitled to receive that prize.

2.3 In order to comply with the Act, Chances that have been purchased and entered into the correct Draw cannot be refunded.

2.4 By entering into the Lottery you agree to be bound by these Rules, and the applicable provisions of the Act and/or any relevant regulations made thereunder from time to time.

2.5 NCFC shall not be liable for any loss or damage (including loss of the opportunity to enter the Lottery and / or the right to receive a prize) suffered by you if you have not complied with the Rules.

2.6 The Rules may be amended by NCFC from time to time and any changes will be published on the NCFC website HERE

3. Registration with the Lottery

3.1 You can only enter the Lottery by purchasing a Chance online using your OneCity Account or by purchasing a hard copy Chance in-person on a matchday.

Online registration

3.2 A valid online registration requires:

(a) you to have a valid OneCity Account.

(b) your OneCity Account to confirm that you are over 18 years of age (in order to ensure compliance with the Act) and resident in Great Britain; and

(c) you to confirm the number of Chances in the Lottery you wish to purchase.

3.3 You will also require to input payment information or use the payment information stored in your OneCity Account in order to complete purchase of your Chances. Payment may be made via the following method:

(a) Debit Card

(i) Information required will include card number, expiry date and card security number.

(ii) Credit card payments are not accepted online. Any payment attempted with a credit card will be refunded, and no Chances will be entered into the Lottery pursuant to such attempted payment.

(b) Any other payment method made available by NCFC from time to time.

(i) The information required will depend upon the payment method.

3.4 NCFC shall be entitled to take any steps necessary to verify the above information and to process your registration. NCFC may (in its absolute discretion) refuse to accept any purported purchase of a Chance.

3.5 Following registration and payment, NCFC will send you confirmation of your Chance(s). This confirmation will specify your Game Number(s).

3.6 It is your responsibility to ensure that the personal information (including, but not limited to, your email address) you provide to us is accurate and NCFC cannot be held liable for any error in such information.

3.7 Each Game Number is unique. A randomly selected Game Number will be issued to you with your confirmation of entry into the Lottery.

In-person registration

3.8 In-person registration will only be available on the day of the match relevant to the Draw from 3 hours prior to kick-off of the relevant match until kick-off of the relevant match.

3.9 A valid in-person registration is one which includes the following confirmation when purchasing the Chance from a seller:

(a) Confirmation that you are over 18 years of age (in order to ensure compliance with the Act).

(b) The number of Chances in the Lottery you wish to purchase.

3.10 Payment for in-person registrations may only be made via debit card.  Credit card payments are not accepted in-person.

3.11 NCFC may (in its absolute discretion) refuse to accept any purported purchase of a Chance.

3.12 Following registration and payment, you will be issued a hard copy of your Game Number by the seller.

4. Payment

4.1 Payment for Chances may only be made by the methods more particularly set out in Rule 3.

4.2 Payment for Chances are made directly to NCFC. Therefore:

(a) Debit card payments will be referenced as Norwich City Football Club on your card statement.

(b) Any other method made available by NCFC from time to time would also be referenced as and be payable to NCFC on any appropriate documentation.

4.3 Credit card payments are not accepted online or in-person. Any payment attempted with a credit card will be refunded, and no Chances will be entered into the Lottery pursuant to such attempted payment.

4.4 The price for each Chance is £2 or such other sum as NCFC may from time to time decide (in its sole discretion).

4.5 Your Chances and therefore associated Game Number(s) will not be entered into the Draw unless NCFC has received all amounts payable (in cleared funds) relating to your Game Numbers by:
(a) if online, 5pm on the day prior to the match relevant to the Draw; or

(b) if in-person, the time of kick-off of the match relevant to the Draw.

If there is a dispute regarding whether Chances have been paid for then such dispute shall be resolved by reference to payment details and records held by NCFC’s bankers and BACs.

4.6 NCFC may cancel your Lottery entry (in its absolute discretion) at any time. NCFC will notify you of such cancellation as soon as reasonably practicable and will reimburse any amounts which have been paid. Other than the reimbursement of any such amounts, NCFC shall not be liable for any loss or damage (including loss of the opportunity to enter the Lottery and / or the right to receive a prize) suffered by you in relation to such cancellation.

5. Changes to Participant’s Details

5.1 Any changes to your details should be updated via your OneCity Account by you as soon as practicable.

5.2 NCFC cannot be held liable for any loss or damage (including loss of the opportunity to enter the Lottery and / or the right to receive a prize) suffered by you as a result of your failing to comply with Rule 5.1.

6. Draws

6.1 The Draw will be made by NCFC using a random number generator system. The number generated by such system for each Draw shall be the Winning Number.

6.2 In order to comply with the Act only those Chances for which payment has been validly received (in cleared funds) by the date and time specified in Rule 4.5 are eligible for entry into the relevant Draw.

6.3 On the happening of any event which prevents a Winning Number being selected then NCFC reserves the right at its discretion to select an alternative Draw process. Such changes will be published on the Lottery website: HERE

7. Prizes

7.1 There will be one prize-winner from each Draw. Prize-winners will be determined by whether a participant’s Game Number relating to a Chance in the Lottery matches the Winning Number as determined in Rule 6.1.

7.2 The Prize for each Draw is 50% of the amount of money received by NCFC for that particular Draw.

7.3 In addition to the prize specified in Rule 7.2, there will also be a monthly ‘Top Prize’ draw (the prize for which will change on a month-by-month basis), which will consist of the following entrants each month:

(a) any participant who purchases a 50/50 raffle ticket before the 15th of each month; and

(b) any new Member of the ‘City Draw’ who has successfully registered before the 15th of each month.

Where a 50/50 raffle ticket is purchased or a new City Draw Member is registered on or after the 15th of each month, each such entry will be entered into the following month’s ‘Top Prize’ draw.
7.4 NCFC reserves the right to amend the prizes at any time. Any such changes will be published on the Lottery website: HERE at least one week prior to a change being made.

7.5 The results of each Draw will be published on the Lottery website within one week of the date of the Draw and may also be published in any other manner determined by NCFC from time to time.

7.6 Whether an online or in-person participant, in order to claim the prize, the participant with the Winning Number must either:

(a) present their Game Number issued by NCFC for the relevant Draw to the South Stand reception at Carrow Road Stadium; or

(b) contact NCFC with evidence of their Game Number for the relevant Draw via the following email address: lotteries@canaries.co.uk. For the avoidance of doubt, NCFC shall be the sole arbiter of whether such evidence is acceptable in order to issue the prize,

and in both (a) and (b) such contact must be made by no later than the date two weeks after the date of the match relevant to the Draw.

Payments cannot be made payable to any other person or organisation.

7.7 NCFC reserves the right to withhold the payment of any prize until it is entirely satisfied that the participant who has won the prize has fully complied with the Rules.

7.8 If, upon winning any prize in the Lottery, you are not able to prove that you have met the criteria specified in Rule 2.1 above then you will not be entitled to receive that prize.

7.9 There are no alternatives to the prizes offered from time to time and no interest is payable.

7.10 Any prizes not claimed within two weeks of the date of the match relevant to the Draw, will be re-credited to the NCFC main account and will be forfeited.  NCFC may use such amounts as a rollover to increase the prize in a subsequent Draw.

8. Suspension of the Lottery

8.1 NCFC may (at its absolute discretion) suspend the Lottery for any period of time. During such period, NCFC shall retain any amounts which were paid prior to such suspension taking effect that have not been used to pay for Chances.

8.2 You will be notified in writing of further details regarding the resumption of the Lottery or otherwise as soon as reasonably practicable after the date of suspension.

9. Liability

9.1 NCFC shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage suffered by you arising from:

(a) Any delays or failures in the online registration methods used by NCFC or you from time to time.

(b) Any delays or failures in any systems used by NCFC or you to transmit e-mails.

(c) Any failure in any software or other systems used by NCFC for the administration of the Lottery.

(d) Any delays of failures in the banking system used by NCFC or you.

(e) Any refusal by NCFC to accept registration of an individual as a participant in the Lottery for any reason whatsoever.

(f) Any failure to enter your Chance into the Draw.

(g) Any event beyond the reasonable control of NCFC.

(h) Any other action or event which prevents or hinders NCFC from fulfilling its administrative objectives.

9.2 NCFC shall not be liable to you in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise for any indirect or consequential loss suffered by you in relation to your participation in the Lottery (including, but not limited to, loss of the opportunity to enter the Lottery and / or the chance of winning a prize).

10. Self-Exclusion

10.1 Should you feel that you have issues with gambling and wish to be self-excluded from the Lottery please email us at lotteries@canaries.co.uk and request self-exclusion with your name, address and supporter number. There is a minimum period of 6 months self-exclusion.

10.2 NCFC will not target you with any marketing material during the self-exclusion period and will remove your name and details from any marketing databases used by NCFC.

10.3 You will need to contact NCFC after your period of self-exclusion to re-instate your participation in the Lottery.

11. Complaints

11.1 Any complaints relating to the Lottery should be sent to NCFC, giving full details of the complaint and supporting documentation, in one of the following ways:

·        By telephone to our lottery team on 01603 218710

·        In person, at the Stadium: Norwich City Football Club, Carrow Road, Norwich, NR1 1JE

·        In writing to our Commercial Sales Executive at: Norwich City Football Club, Carrow Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 1JE.

11.2 Save as provided for in this Agreement, the Promoter shall make the final decision on the complaint pursuant to the Rules and that decision shall be final and binding.

11.3 Save where the Rules expressly provide otherwise, the Promoter shall not be obliged to enter into any correspondence with you.

11.4 If a satisfactory resolution cannot be reached then the matter can be referred to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) entity. NCFC uses IBAS (Independent Betting Adjudication Service) for this purpose; IBAS are on the Gambling Commission’s approved ADR list. 12. Privacy

12.1 To the extent that you provide your personal data to NCFC in relation to the Lottery, NCFC are the Data Controller of your personal data collected through the Lottery. This means NCFC determines what data is collected and how this is used, including which other organisations are involved with the processing. NCFC is committed to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Data Protection Act 2018.

12.2 The personal data collected about you is processed for the purpose of conducting the Lottery. This is necessary for the performance of a contract, namely the contract between NCFC and you to play the Lottery.

12.3 NCFC manages Lottery participants’ personal data. As part of this process, personal data will be used for:

·        Personalising your lottery experience – for example ensuring that you do not receive promotions to join the Lottery if you are already subscribed

·        Lottery subscriber profiling – this is understanding who plays the lottery and how NCFC can increase players

·        Associating Lottery players with NCFC supporters

·        Managing marketing activities for NCFC.

13. Law and Jurisdiction

13.1 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
