Norwich City Women are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Abi Calver.

She will join the Canaries on a dual registration with Dussindale and Hellesdon Rovers.

Born in Great Yarmouth, the 16-year-old is a product of the Community Sports Foundation's Player Pathway, joining at age ten and working her way up through the age groups.

Calver graduated from the Under-16s over the summer and earned herself a spot with the Canaries for her first taste of senior football.

On signing for the women's team, she said: "I’m so proud, this is honestly an amazing opportunity.

"The coaches are very ambitious, very, technical and very passionate about their jobs, which I love.

"They're always willing to help and I can't wait to get started with them.

"I know Poppy (Francis), Drew (Wilson) and Issy (Moore) through the pathway.

"I'm very excited; they're all very professional, brilliant footballers and I can learn a lot from them."

Head of women's football, Flo Allen, added: "We are extremely proud of our girls’ player pathway run by the Foundation, with Abi being the latest talent to graduate.

"Developing local talent is at the heart of our strategy and we are all delighted to see Abi make the step up to senior football."
