Norwich City Women are delighted to announce the signing of defender Natalie Johnson from WSL 2 side Nottingham Forest.
Johnson, 32, joins the Canaries on a professional contract following three years with the Reds, including a year as club captain.
Her time with Forest concluded with plenty of silverware, as she was part of the side that earned promotion to the second tier of the women's football pyramid after an unbeaten 2024/25 season in the Northern Premier Division.
Forest also picked up the FAWNL League Cup during that same campaign.
Alongside those accolades, she collected a Player of the Month award in February 2024 and eventually won the fan-voted Goal of the Season in her debut year at the club.
Born in Leicester, she began her playing career at the Foxes' Centre of Excellence before she spent four years in the US completing a college degree.
Returning to Leicester in 2016, Johnson spent two years in Tier 3 and two in WSL 2 (formerly known as the Championship) prior to making the move to Sheffield United.
She spent one season with the Blades before making the switch to Coventry United and, shortly after, Lewes.
On signing for Norwich City, Johnson said: "I'm really excited to get my boots on, get started and get to know the city and the club a little bit better.
"I've been keeping a close eye on the club. It was a really exciting year last season and you can see the club is really invested in its women's side.
"The ambition is clear and really exciting for someone like me."
Not only has Johnson had an illustrious career at club level, she has represented Northern Ireland on the international stage with 13 caps and one goal.
She made her debut in October 2024 as a substitute in the Women's Euros 2025 first-round play-off win over Croatia and was handed her full debut against Norway two months later.
Flo Allen, head of women's football, added: "This is a significant signing for the football club and we are delighted to be welcoming Natalie to Norwich City.
"To attract a player of her calibre, with not only exceptional domestic experience as a former captain in WSL 2, but also valuable international experience with Northern Ireland, is a clear reflection of the project we are building here.
"She brings quality, experience and leadership, alongside a real desire to continue developing and pushing herself to achieve more.
"Throughout all our conversations with Natalie, it was clear that she shares our values and ambitions for the future.
"We are thrilled to welcome her into the group and we are all looking forward to seeing the impact she will have in yellow and green over the coming seasons."
