September’s Fosters Solicitors Community Hero recognises two inspirational fundraisers who recently took on Run Norwich in support of the Community Sports Foundation.
Dawn Edwards and Tilly Rand both went above and beyond when fundraising for the Foundation in the lead up to this year’s race.
Running on behalf of the Norfolk charity, Dawn raised more than £1,100 while Tilly holds the title as the lead junior fundraiser, raising an incredible £1,300 for her involvement with Run Norwich Junior.
For Dawn, the decision to fundraise for the Norfolk charity was deeply personal: "It’s been a really difficult couple of years for my family.
"Last year, we lost our grandson and our granddaughter Emily was facing her own challenges.
"Emily joined the Foundation's Onside programme, which had a monumental impact on her life.
"I saw first-hand the unbelievable work the Foundation does and wanted to give something back."
Meanwhile, junior runner Tilly Rand embraced both the challenge of the run and the opportunity to make a difference.
She said: "It was really exciting to raise so much money for the Foundation and I had the best time doing the run.
"I'm definitely going to do it again next year and hopefully raise more!'"
Emma Fletcher-Dungay, head of fundraising at the Community Sports Foundation, added: "We're incredibly grateful to Dawn, Tilly and all of our Foundation and junior fundraisers.
"Their efforts help us continue supporting people across Norfolk through our sport, wellbeing and community programmes.
"Every pound raised helps us create more opportunities for those who need them most and we're proud to recognise their outstanding achievements."
