Norwich City has confirmed a series of appointments across its football department, with Gabor Ruhr, Andrew Procter and Dr Pippa Bennett joining the club in key leadership roles.
The club has appointed Ruhr as Head of Scouting. Ruhr arrives after a decade working in German football, holding performance analysis, scouting and football leadership roles with 1. FC Köln, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha BSC. Most recently, he served as Head of Scouting and Squad Planning at Köln.
Procter will join the club as Head of Physiotherapy from Blackburn Rovers. A former professional midfielder with more than 500 career appearances, Procter transitioned into sports medicine and has since held medical positions at Portsmouth, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers. He brings extensive expertise in physiotherapy, performance services and player care.
Bennett has rejoined the club as Chief Medical Officer. Bennett has more than 20 years of experience working in elite sport, having supported athletes at multiple Olympic, Paralympic and World University Games. She was part of Team GB’s medical operations at both the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games and has since led medical services within the Paralympic programme.
She also played a significant role in the evolution of England women’s football, supporting the Lionesses for 14 years as a leading sports medicine specialist during a period of growing professionalism and international success under Hope Powell.
Bennett currently serves as Head of Clinical Governance at the UK Sports Institute and as Paralympic Chief Medical Officer, bringing a wealth of expertise in athlete welfare, injury management and performance medicine to the club.
The club are also at the final stages of appointing a Football Development Director, who will lead on the strategic direction and plan across all academy age groups. An announcement on that appointment will follow in due course.
