Greater Anglia will run an additional train for Norwich City football fans travelling home after a midweek fixture this autumn.
After Norwich City v Birmingham at Carrow Road on Wednesday, September 9, the following additional service will run:
10.27pm Norwich to London Liverpool Street calling at Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Manningtree, Colchester, Witham, Chelmsford, Shenfield, Stratford and is due to arrive in London Liverpool Street at 12.30am.
James Reeve, group station manager at Greater Anglia, said: "We know this match is very important to our customers, which is why we are running this additional train.
"We have worked with Norwich City to identify and respond to customer demand and this additional service is a direct result of that partnership working.
"We always want to support large local events where possible and make it easy for people to travel to by train so they can leave the car at home."
Lewis Buck, senior account manager at Mobilityways, said: "Mobilityways has been working with the County Council, football club and transport operators to improve options for football day travel.
"We have provided a travel survey and postcode analysis for the partnership and are really pleased to see improvements like this from Greater Anglia that benefit fans."

These extra trains are part of Greater Anglia’s planning to support major events and make rail travel easier for customers.
They also reflect the more coordinated approach being developed across GBR Anglia, with c2c, Greater Anglia and Network Rail Anglia now working under one leadership team to improve planning, strengthen day-to-day coordination and deliver a more joined-up railway for passengers across the region.
