Andre Brooks was delighted to play his part in helping Norwich City register their first Sky Bet Championship points of the new season.
Brooks, a summer arrival from Sheffield United, struck either side of half time, to send City on their way to a 4-1 victory over Burnley at Carrow Road.
To the delight of the home fans in a wet Carrow road, Brooks' eye-catching second goal, City's fourth of the afternoon, put the gloss on an impressive display.
Speaking to the media after the game, he said: “Last week we obviously didn't get the three points against Millwall, so it's always good to get three points today and put things right.
“Millwall is a hard place to go and on the day we were just miles off it. We came into this game thinking we just need to put things right and that's what we did.
“You've got to stay ready. The Championship is a tough league, so you've got to stay on your toes and obviously chances like that will come.
“The boss said that we needed to start the game on the front foot, and that's what we've done today.
Brooks now has three goals in five competitive appearances for the City, as he was delighted to add to his tally.
He continued: “My first competitive game after signing was against MK Dons. I got a goal and assist there, so I started well. Then after that I wasn't really up to my standards. Today I wanted to put things right and two goals, so yeah, I couldn't be any happier.
“We want to make this stadium a hard place for teams to come. We did that today.
“For the second goal I was kind of tired, so I just wanted to get clean contact on it. That was the only thing I could really do at that moment and luckily it's crept in.
“Obviously scoring goals is an incredible feeling so I'm just proud and happy that I got to chip in with two today.
Reflected on his summer switch from Sheffield United, Brooks added: “It had to be the right club, and I think that this is the right club for me. I see the ambitions from the squad, from the team and from the coaches. So yeah, I'm proud to be here.
“We've got we've got a younger squad and there's a lot of potential here. Hopefully we can keep this from going.
“We now just need to focus on the next game. We've got Stoke City on Tuesday, so we put our full focus on that."
