International preview: 10 Canaries called up to international duty

Ten Norwich City players are set to represent their nations across the upcoming international window, with fixtures taking place across the next fortnight including UEFA Nations League, UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers and AFCON qualifying group stages.

Anis Ben Slimane gets the international action underway on Thursday, September 24, with Tunisia hosting Uganda.

Two Canaries are in action on Friday, September 25 as Ruairi McConville is in contention to feature for Northern Ireland against Georgia, while Kellen Fisher could be involved in England Under-21s tie against Kazakhstan Under-21s.

Andre Brooks could also feature for Jamaica against Guatemala, with a kick-off time still to be confirmed.

José Córdoba then joins up with Panama for their meeting with India on Saturday, September 26.

The following week sees more international fixtures, with Oscar Schwartau representing Denmark Under-20s against Brazil Under-20s and McConville's Northern Ireland return to play against Hungary on Monday, September 28. Tunisia will take on Botswana, with kick-off yet to be confirmed.

Brooks will also be involved in the early hours of Tuesday morning, as Jamaica face Honduras.

Cordoba's Panama then continue their fixtures against New Zealand on Thursday, October 1.

Four yellows could feature on Friday, October 2, with England Under-21s taking on Slovakia (Kellen Fisher) and Northern Ireland facing Ukraine (McConville).

There could also be appearances for Anthony Musaba and Paris Maghoma, who are set to feature for DR Congo against Uganda.

Brooks rounds off his stint with Jamaica against El Salvador on Saturday, October 3. Tunisia will also play that evening in their penultimate fixture of the window against Mali (Slimane).

Denmark Under-20s face USA on Sunday, October 4 (Schwartau), before Northern Ireland conclude their listed fixtures against Georgia on Monday, October 5 (McConville).

Córdoba could also have another Panama fixture against Japan or Ecuador, whilst DR Congo face Uganda once more (Musaba and Maghoma).

On Tuesday, October 6 England Under-21s will face Republic of Ireland Under-21s (Fisher) with Tunisia's opponents yet to be confirmed (Slimane).

Meanwhile, Darlin Yongwa has been called up to Cameroon for fixtures against Comoros, Congo and Côte d’Ivoire with dates and timings to be confirmed.

Norwich City Under-21s left-back Vatan Ozcan has been called up to Turkey’s Under-19 side, with fixtures still to be confirmed.

Four further players are on standby to be called up.

Jacob Wright and Jovon Makama are on standby for England Under-21s and if called up, they could feature alongside Fisher in their fixtures against Kazakhstan, Slovakia and Republic of Ireland.

Mathias Kvistgaarden is also on standby for Denmark who have four fixtures throughout the break where he could face Norway, Wales twice and Portugal.

Wales Under-21s have Elliot Myles on standby for fixtures against Belgium and Australia.

Kenny McLean (Scotland), Mohamed Touré (Australia) and Ben Chrisene (England Under-21s) were all called up for international duties, but each had to step down due to injury.
