Norwich City academy defender Jake Glossop has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The 17-year-old signed his first professional contract in the summer and after impressing in both the Under-18s and Under-21s was rewarded with an extension on his deal.
Glossop was on the scoresheet in the Canaries' Under-21s most recent PL2 outing, scoring the third in a 4-3 win at Pride Park.
"It's a big deal to be offered another contract and it means that I can really start working hard now and keep my head focussed because I know I'm here to stay a long time.
"I'm just really happy to be offered a new contract."
Glossop joined the Canaries at age eight and has since progressed through the ranks.
Describing his play-style, he said: "I like to get up the pitch, try and make things happen by getting crosses into the box and creating chances, but I can also roll into midfield and provide an option there.
"I'd say I'm more of an attack-minded full-back, but I enjoy defending too.
"I always feel so happy when I'm able to represent the club that I, my friends and family, support.
"It's a great feeling and hopefully I can do it many more times.
"The biggest thing I have learnt from my time here is how much it is a family club and how much people help you and support you.
"It's a relief that you know there's so many people that are supporting you and wanting you to do well; it just helps you to relax and play your game.
"Then you can do what you need to do because there's so many behind people backing you to do well.
"It's a great feeling that the club want me here for a longer time.
"It gives me that security that I'm gonna be here for a few more years and then hopefully more in the future.
"It just allows me to really focus on my football and really work harder to try and get into a first team."
The full-back has been a regular choice for Under-21s coach Olly Lee so far this season, demonstrating his readiness for the next step in his footballing career.
"I think it's been really good for me to be with both age groups, especially when I come into the Under-21s to have a different role.
"Whereas in the Under-18s, I'm seen as more of an experienced player, usually captain.
"So, I normally have more responsibility and I think that's good for my learning; being able to lead a team and help us team win.
"When I play the Under-21s, I'm with lots of lads who are older than me, so it's good to be around them because I get to learn a lot from them.
"I want to play as much football at that level as I can, getting as much experience as I can there."
