The Canaries are back on the road as they make the trip up north to face Middlesbrough this Saturday (KO 3pm).
Philippe Clement’s side head to the Riverside Stadium following back-to-back league wins, most recently securing three points at home on Wednesday night with a 2-1 win over Birmingham City.
The Opposition
Kim Hellberg’s side head into Saturday’s clash following their Carabao Cup third-round exit, suffering a 3-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.
Middlesbrough opened their 2026/2027 Sky Bet Championship season with a win at home against newly promoted Lincoln City.
After conceding in the 12th minute, summer signing Will Lankshear scored twice for Boro to help claim all three points.
The equaliser was found in the 62nd minute, before Lankshear completed the comeback 18 minutes later.
Middlesbrough secured three points in their most recent league game against QPR, Lankshear on target again to score the decisive goal in the 1-0 win.
Boro sit third in the Championship table heading into Saturday’s tie.
In the most recent transfer window, Hellberg added 15 new additions to the squad including Lankshear from Tottenham, who has seven goals in seven games so far this season.
There were 17 departures from Riverside Stadium, including Hayden Hackney leaving to join Tottenham.

The last time the two sides met Kim Hellberg’s team claimed three points at Riverside Stadium.
Hayden picked the ball up from 25 yards out and fired the ball beyond Kovačević into the top-right corner to score the only goal in a 1-0 win.
The Canaries’ most recent win over Boro came in November 2020, on the road at the Riverside Stadium.
Marcus Tavernier missed a penalty for the hosts following a goalless first half and Teemu Pukki converted a goal from the penalty spot to take home the three points.
Connections
Several players have worn both shirts, including Jonny Howson who signed for the Canaries in 2012 before departing to Middlesbrough in 2017.
During his time with Norwich, he scored 23 goals in 179 league appearances, famously finding the net in the first leg of the 2014/15 play-off semi-finals at Portman Road.
Howson spent seven seasons with Middlesbrough from 2017 to 2025.
The midfielder made 321 appearances for Boro, scoring nine times.
Onel Hernádez, Ben Gibson and Jordan Rhodes have also all made appearances for both sides.
