Philippe Clement's side kick off their 2026/27 domestic campaign with a Carabao Cup first-round clash against MK Dons at Carrow Road.
Following Tuesday night's pre-season draw with Cambridge United, the Canaries will be aiming to make a winning start to the new season and book their place in Monday evening's second-round draw.
The Opposition
Paul Warne's side make the two-and-a-quarter-hour trip to Norfolk in high spirits after securing promotion back to Sky Bet League One on the penultimate weekend of last season.
The Diss-born manager has quickly written his name into MK Dons folklore, guiding the club back to the third tier in his first full season in Buckinghamshire and securing the fifth promotion of his managerial career in the process.
The Dons rounded off their pre-season schedule with a 2-0 victory over Sky Bet League Two side Cheltenham Town on Saturday, with second-half goals from Aaron Collins and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing sealing the win.
Warne's squad has taken on a fresh look ahead of the new campaign, with six new arrivals joining the club following promotion. Most recently, MK Dons confirmed the loan signing of winger Samuel Silvera from Middlesbrough.
The Last Time We Met
Despite never playing in a division above Norwich City, and with the two sides having shared a league only once – in League One during the 2009/10 season – MK Dons boast a 21-year unbeaten record against the Canaries. City's last victory came in 2005, when Leon McKenzie's dramatic 120th-minute winner secured progression to the second round of the then Carling Cup.
The sides most recently met at Carrow Road in this competition in 2011, when MK Dons stunned Paul Lambert's Premier League outfit with a 4-0 victory.
Connections
Two current Canaries could come up against their former club on Saturday.
Centre-back Harry Darling spent a season and a half at Stadium MK after joining from Cambridge United in 2021. The defender made 72 appearances for the Dons before earning a move to Swansea City in the summer of 2022.
Paris Maghoma also enjoyed a spell in Buckinghamshire, spending the 2022/23 campaign on loan from Brentford. The midfielder made 21 appearances during his time with MK Dons.
A number of former Canaries have also represented the Dons over the years, including Russell Martin, Cameron Jerome, Aaron Wilbraham and Patrick Bamford.
