Norwich City came from two goals down to beat Watford at Carrow Road, securing back-to-back wins for the Canaries.
Myrom Boadu’s first-half double had given the visitors a commanding lead, but Philippe Clement’s side responded after the break, with Ben Chrisene and Anthony Musaba bringing City level before Paris Maghoma struck the winner.
Going into the game, Clement made several changes to the side that faced Charlton. Sam Field came into the line-up as captain, with Pelle Mattsson and Kenny McLean missing out through injury. Anthony Musaba was also named in the starting XI, whilst Mirko Topić returned to the squad for the first time in 11 months.
Norwich started on the front foot with their first attacking chance within the first three minutes. Jacob Wright drove towards goal before finding Mathias Kvistgaarden with a backheel, but Federico Ravaglia blocked the forward’s effort.
City threatened again from a corner shortly afterwards, as Wright’s delivery picked out Kvistgaarden, whose header cleared the crossbar by inches. Despite the Canaries’ positive start, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock in the tenth minute.
Ikor Bravo broke free on the left before crossing for Myrom Boadu in the centre of the box, where the forward beat Daniel Grimshaw to put Watford ahead.
City came close to responding 13 minutes later, as Paris Maghoma collected Ruairi McConville’s pass before firing narrowly wide of the left-hand post.
However, the Hornets doubled their advantage in the 27th minute. Matthew Pollock’s through ball released Boadu on the counter-attack, and the forward finished into the bottom-right corner from the left side of the area.
Watford took their two-goal lead into the break, but the Canaries pushed for a way back early in the second half. Seven minutes after the restart, Maghoma picked out Anthony Musaba in the box, only for Ravaglia to throw himself in the way of the winger’s effort.
City’s pressure paid off in the 54th minute, as Ben Chrisene pulled a goal back for Clement’s side.
Wright’s corner found Jose Córdoba, who directed a header towards goal. His effort was blocked, but Chrisene reacted a the loose ball on the left of the box, volleying home to reduce the deficit.
Eleven minutes later, Musaba found the equaliser. Kvistgaarden won a clearance and released the winger, who beat his marker before firing home from the edge of the area.
The comeback was complete nine minutes later, as Maghoma struck to send Carrow Road into celebration once more.
Field set Kvistgaarden away into the box, and the Dane pulled the ball back for Maghoma on the edge of the area. The midfielder fired into the bottom-right corner to put the Canaries ahead.
With the lead secured, Clement’s side continued to press for a fourth in the closing stages.
Substitute Jovon Makama made an immediate impact, troubling the Watford defence in the box with support from fellow substitute Darlin Yongwa.
However, City had done enough to complete the turnaround and secure all three points at Carrow Road.
