Norwich City suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Swansea City after second-half goals from Moussa Yeo and former Canary Adam Idah overturned Jacob Wright's first-half goal.
Wright gave the Canaries the lead in the 28th minute, but Yeo equalised four minutes after the break before Idah headed Swansea in front in the 59th minute, which proved to be the deciding goal in disappointing afternoon in Wales.
It was an end-to-end start to the game, with both sides creating chances but neither able to find the breakthrough in the opening stages of the game.
Swansea created the first opportunity from a corner, as the ball fell to Yeo on the edge of the box, but his effort on target was punched clear by Vladan Kovačević.
Shortly after, Mathias Kvistgaarden’s shot was deflected, forcing Lawrence Vigouroux into action to recover the ball.
Joseph Opoku then regained possession and drove towards goal before crossing to Idah, but the Irishman was unable to control the pass, allowing Kovačević to gather the displaced ball.
Norwich were close to taking the lead in the 26th minute when Oscar Schwartau sent a cross across the face of goal but a clearance from Stephen Welsh denied Kvistgaarden a chance to a header the ball into the net.
The deadlock was then broken, as Andre Brooks repossessed the ball deep within Swansea’s half and found Schwartau on the right side of box, who only needed to pick out Wright in centre of area.
He coolly struck the ball into the left corner of the net to give Norwich the lead, scoring his second goal for the Canaries.
Swansea searched for an equaliser in the 33rd minute when Yeo fired a cross into the six-yard box to find the head of Idah but quick reactions from Kovačević restricted the hosts from levelling the score.
The City stopper was called into action again in the closing stages of the first half to keep the Canaries in front going into the break. Gonçalo Franco's right-footed effort towards the bottom-left corner was kept out before Idah threatened again from close range.
The sides returned for the second half unchanged.
However, two minutes into the second-half Josh Tymon, on the left-hand side, sent the ball to Idah who failed to place it past Kovačević. The deflection was controlled by Yeo who was on target to level find the equaliser.
A clearance from Ruariri McConville then restricted the Swans from initially taking the lead.
Melker Widdell found Idah with his cross and the clearance was then collected by Opoku who sent a shot towards goal but the Northern Ireland international blocked Swansea's opportunity to take a 2-1 lead.
The hosts continued their explosive start to the second half and found their comeback in the 59th minute.
Idah rose to meet a delivery into the box and directed his header into the bottom-right corner to put the Swans ahead.
The Canaries responded with a double substitution in the 70th minute, with Anthony Musaba replacing Brooks and Jovon Makama coming on for Kvistgaarden.
Swansea also made two changes, introducing Elijah Just for Widell and Marko Stamenić for Jay Fulton.
Philippe Clement's side were awarded a free kick in the 81st minute, with Wright standing over it. He sent it deep to the far post, Jack Stacey freeing himself to keep the ball in play. Musaba collected the ball, but his volley from the centre of the box was blocked and Schwartau's follow-up was sent wide of the target.
Substitute Anis Ben Slimane cut the ball back for Sam Field who was on target but was denied by Vigouroux, who had to make a handful of quick saves from attacking attempt from Norwich.
Two minutes into the six minutes of added time, Makama came closest, heading narrowly over the crossbar as the Canaries searched for a leveller.
However, Norwich were unable to find a late equaliser, as Swansea held on to claim all three points.
