Philippe Clement was the special guest race starter at the Community Sports Foundation’s 2026 Run Norwich event on Sunday morning.
Following the previous day’s victory away at Sheffield United, Clement arrived early to meet volunteers and staff members, some of which had been on hand from 5am to finalise preparations for the race.
The City head coach also took time to meet sponsors, including headline partners Norse Group, as well as some of the 9,000 runners taking part on the day.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk, Clement said: "It was amazing to see all of the happy faces from everyone involved.
"Adults, young kids, volunteers, staff and all of the other people – today I really felt the unity and togetherness in all of the community and the important work of the Community Sports Foundation.
"Congratulations go to everyone who was involved in such an amazing event and day."
Run Norwich, now in its 11th year, is widely regarded as one of the region’s most popular and best-supported running events each year.
An estimated 20,000 spectators lined the streets to cheer on family and friends, with the runners’ 10km route taking in Norwich Castle, Norwich Cathedral and Carrow Road, before finishing in front of City Hall.
Ian Thornton OBE, chief executive officer of the Community Sports Foundation added: "Run Norwich is one of the most special days in the city's calendar. Seeing thousands of people come together to challenge themselves, support charities and celebrate Norwich is incredibly inspiring.
"The atmosphere throughout the city was outstanding. We're hugely grateful to every runner, volunteer, sponsor, partner and supporter who helped make Run Norwich 2026 such a success, particularly our strategic partner, Norse Group, for their continued support.
"Run Norwich remains the people's race. Behind every race number is a personal story and it's those stories that make this event so special year after year."
