Norwich City head coach said the squad have been working hard this week to get a positive result against Charlton Athletic on the road and thanked the fans for their continued support.
With over 3,000 fans heading to The Valley on Saturday, Clement said his side are ready for the challenge ahead.
First of all, how nice has it been to have a full week of training?
Of course, nice to have had some players welcomed back, Kenny McLean has been training a few times with the squad and he has been the heartbeat of the team for many years as one of the leaders, so it's important he is back in the squad.
He will be available for the game but after his absence, it will not be 90 minutes.
Speaking to some of the players in recent days, confidence has naturally taken a hit, is that something you can build up day-to-day here?
Of course, that comes from creating habits, doing good things in training, letting them work hard and compete.
It's been a really good training week.
They've been responding really well and it's now we need to put the training sessions into practice more; when to do what and game management.
We had been scoring with our eyes closed and played some really good attacking football but we lost the structure, our defending was not compact enough and they're doing that much better now.
It's about finding a good balance and that experience to improve game management, so I'm happy that Kenny will be back because of that.
For years he has been the player who has decided the tempo of the game and we need other players to lead like this, knowing when to accelerate the game, when to play forwards. Kenny will not play the next 10 years here, so these are important steps the team is taking.
The team defended much better after the break, so, it's about the other side of the pitch, to create more but I'm confident that will come back.
Experience is so important in football that you can prepare every minute of the game, it's impossible. The structure needs to be clear and what to do against what opponent but you need to be able to do that in the game too.
In the Portsmouth game, I saw a lot of passion and running and fight; that's why we also almost didn't concede any chances but on the ball we were still in a rush. You learn that balance along the way.
Having Kenny back is a huge boost - do you feel you have enough young players like him?
Not yet, but we are developing that and there are players stepping up and taking more responsibility.
Last season he was maybe sometimes too dominant on the pitch and now more and more players are learning this.
Of course, if you win more games there is less work to do but they are learning in a positive way because I have seen a positive reaction in training.
How difficult do you see this challenge you have now in this run compared to the team you inherited, are they different challenges?
They are definitely different challenges.
We've not been lucky in this run of games, not one game where that fell on our side.
You need to push your luck and that's what we need to do in the next weeks to come, to show the good balance between intensity, passion and heart without the ball and with it.
You had a massive impact when you came in, is it just as easy this time round?
No, because the message is different to last season and the things we need to solve now are different but getting the team out of the situation where they didn't believe in themselves and the physical ability not being there was more difficult, especially with 10/12 players out.
We have four out injured now, we do have some coming back from long term injuries but every week it will get better with them.
I expect Papa Amadou Diallo back here in a few weeks too.
It's important to be consistent, if you start to swap everything there is no clarity for the players and that stays one of the most important things in football.
Of course there are tweaks you make in every game, but the philosophy stays the same.
The fan have shown huge support for you with 3,000 at The Valley tomorrow. In a run like this, that is pretty incredible but the message seems to be that this is year five in the Championship, it can be tiring and you're the fifth head coach; you can understand why that frustration is there, can't you?
The frustration is with us and the players but you cannot throw everything on one pile, there are a lot of different stories along the way and it's about getting the story back.
It's about taking points but also sticking to the way the team has been doing things.
The fans have also seen in these last games that there was not one moment this team gave up or an opponent was dominating. The team is pushing and we are close.
I am happy the fans are helping to do that too and I totally understand they are disappointed after the last game. The fans have been behind the team the whole time.
The team is working hard and giving everything to get results and it's now about learning.
How is Vladan Kovačević doing and how would you assess how Daniel Grimshaw has done in his absence? It will probably be a difficult decision for you now?
Vlad is back in selection for tomorrow.
Grimmy (Grimshaw) did a really good job in the games he played, he didn't have a massive amount of work to do, which shows how well we've done defensively. I have a tough decision between two good goalkeepers tomorrow.
What about Mirko Topić, it's been good to see him back in action with the Under-21s. How have you assessed his start?
Yes, very positive he is getting minutes in his legs and he played the Bristol game Wednesday too with the young guys, so he is doing well for the injury that he had and the amount of time he had out.
He will need some time to get up to rhythm and that's normal in these circumstances.
Finally, we have Charlton tomorrow, they're in a weird situation where they've played eight games without a win but are unbeaten at home. How do you assess that challenge?
They play a similar style of play to last season.
I remember a really tough game against a really tough opponent who were difficult to break open.
We got a great goal from Pelle (Mattsson) but in moments we struggled and had to dig in to keep them out of our box.
We did really good, kept a clean sheet and got three points, so, those are all the things I want this weekend.
