Jacob Wright said that Norwich City’s pre-season game against Colchester United was a good test for the side as they played out a goalless draw at the Avant Training Centre.

The midfielder was introduced at half-time when Philippe Clement named ten changes to the side.

Following the match, he said: “It was a good test. I think it kind of shows where we are at during pre-season.

“There wasn't enough pushing in the forward department, not enough chances created, but you know, it's a step up in intensity. It's a building block and we keep on pushing.”

The result means it’s two clean sheets out of two as pre-season intensified against the U’s.

“It's been good. Definitely a step up this week and we'll look to ramp up again next week in the intensity and the load, but I think the boys are managing it well and we're looking to progress.

“I think one of the key areas is to improve on is definitely scoring more goals.

“You look between the two games, we've had a lot of the ball and we've dominated throughout, but we’ve not created enough chances and scored enough goals.

“That's definitely something we need to work on in the coming weeks to make sure that, we're sharp and ready for the start of the season.”
