Summer signing Natalie Johnson felt Norwich City Women had made a positive start to life in Tier 3 and felt the Canaries should have taken the win at The Nest against Huddersfield Town Women.
“I think my overall reflection straight away is very positive, especially for a first outing in Tier 3.
“There are quite a lot of new faces on the pitch and I think we showed from the start what we are about this season.
“I think we need to just maybe a little bit more clinical in the final third and we'd have come away with all three points.
“I actually think we edged it; they got us on the counter and it was good finish by them, but I think apart from that they didn't really threaten too much.
“We were peppering their goal towards the end of the second half ,so if we just put one of them away, we'd have won the game.
“I think it was a very close fight, a really good game of football.”
On making her debut for the Canaries and settling into the club, she said: “It was brilliant.
“As soon as we stepped out to warm-up they were loud, giving us high fives all over the place.
“It was a really good turnout and we heard them the whole time we were playing.
“So, it kept me going, for sure.
“I love it here; the girls are great and obviously a tight bunch.
“They achieved a lot last season, which I think has really helped them click.
“Norwich is a lovely place to live and it's a lovely football club to be a part of.”
Perry Northeast’s side are on the road next weekend, travelling to Hull City for the first away game.
“I think we'll just go about the week as we usually do; prep, recover.
“We've got a few games coming up in a short space of time, so, I think we'll just add to what we've done today and it can only get better from here.”
