Mathias Kvistgaarden was delighted to see Norwich City return to winning ways as the Canaries came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Charlton Athletic at The Valley.
The Danish striker provided the assist for Paris Maghoma's equaliser before heading City into the lead early in the second half, helping his side claim three important points on the road.
“Of course, there's way more smiling today than there has been in the last couple of weeks, so we're all very, very happy,” Kvistgaarden said.
“It was 100%, but I think we really showed some character. We really showed the quality in this group.
“Even though we conceded a goal, we kept fighting, and now we're standing here and taking three points home.”
Kvistgaarden was pleased to contribute to Maghoma's equaliser but was quick to praise the goalscorer for his finish.
“It's a pass that I'm happy with the quality of, but I still think you need to give a lot of credit to Paris because it's a very, very tight angle he's finished from,” he said.
“One thing is the pass, but the finish is even more wonderful.”
The striker then got on the scoresheet himself, meeting Ruairi McConville's excellent cross with a powerful header to put City ahead.
“As I said before in an interview, that's probably 80% Ruairi's goal. It's a perfect cross. I'm going to give that one to Ruairi. That's incredible,” he said.
Kvistgaarden also highlighted the togetherness within the Norwich squad, insisting belief remained strong despite the difficult run leading into Saturday's fixture.
“Nobody in the team has doubted the togetherness and the support we have, both between players and staff,” he said.
“We have all believed during this run that we can turn this thing around, and hopefully today we made a big, big step.
“But we have to still stay low and keep building.”
With a long Championship season ahead, Kvistgaarden believes every member of the squad will have an important role to play.
“It's important that all of us take our chances,” he said. “It's a very, very long season, so we need every player in the squad.
“I really support everybody, and that's the togetherness we have in the team right now. That's positive, really positive.”
The forward knows Saturday's result is only the beginning, and wants the Canaries to build on the victory without looking too far ahead.
“We know we have been struggling, but we also know that we can turn this around,” he said.
“We have to take it day by day and game by game. We're going to do everything we can to get on that run, but we're going to take it day by day, training by training and game by game.”
