Norwich City Women head coach Perry Northeast was proud of the performance in Sunday's draw with Huddersfield Town.
City played out an even game against their fellow newly-promoted opposition with both sides made to rue missed chances.
"Today was a very competitive game between two sides who are newer to the level.
"In the first half I felt it was very competitive, they had some opportunities and I felt they hurt us at times and we did the same to them.
"Possibly, if both sides were a little bit more clinical in the first half, it could have been a 2-2 or a 3-3 scoreline.
"As the game progressed, I felt we become a bit more dominant. We were good with the ball, we kept them pinned in their half and we sustained attacks.
"We just couldn't quite find that finishing touch and whilst we did have a few chances and possession was good, we've just got to work opportunities and work ways of moving their players out of positions.
"But overall, yeah, a point is good, especially when going behind in the first instance."
Sunday was Northeast's first competitive fixture as City Women head coach, making his debut in the dugout in front of a 300-strong crowd at The Nest.
"It was great. You can really feel the energy and the buzz and they really do pick the team up.
"They push the team on and push the team through and hopefully in return the team will create lots of exciting moments for them like they did today and lots of ooh and ah moments.
"But yeah, it was fantastic and when you just see such a sea of yellow come and support the team, it's fantastic and really positive for everybody."
The Canaries return to action with a trip to Hull City next week. Speaking on what he will take into to that fixture, Northeast said: "Just how competitive the games are at this level, how tactical the games are.
"I say again, Huddersfield had some really nice build-out solutions, and then we had to change our press and vice versa. So, I think it's going to be a good season this year of cat and mouse and teams changing different ways of how they want to try and build and press.
"So, yeah, we take heart in the fact that we got a point, we take heart in the fact that we looked and played how we want to play this season and we need to then ensure that we close games off to try and make sure we obtain three points as opposed to the one."
