Philippe Clement addressed the media on Friday afternoon ahead of Norwich City's Sky Bet Championship trip to face Sheffield United.
The head coach confirmed that Paris Maghoma would be back in the squad for selection at Bramall Lane on Saturday, whilst Jovon Makama had resumed training with the team.
"There are positives to talk about after Stoke; there were no problems after the game with the squad that was there.
"Paris has been back in training the last two days, so he will be in the selection now for this weekend.
"Jovon has been in training today also with the team, so he will also become available for selection in the coming weeks.
"The difference between the two is that Paris has only been out two weeks, whereas Jovon has been out for almost six months.
"We need to see when is a good time for him."
With the transfer window shut and City's summer business concluded, Clement expressed his satisfaction with the squad now at his disposal.
"You always have certain targets and names, so, it's impossible to obtain all your goals but I think with the money available that the club had, we used it in a really good way.
"We have players with interesting profiles, players with qualities and a lot of young players with really good potential.
"I think we have a better squad now than we did last season, so that's another step made.
"Liam Gibbs wanted to go out on loan in January already because he wanted to play more football but I stopped that.
"He's had a lot of injuries here and in our time together good steps have been made to get him more fit.
"This is a moment in his career where he wanted more regular game time and we could not be sure we could give him that and it's important that he can take his minutes somewhere else to take the next steps in his career.
"For Amankwah Forson, it was more of a squad-specific decision.
"With Liam, you could use him in several positions, so there was more chance he could play.
"With Forson it was less, so this move is for him to play and to keep his value, as the club paid money to get him in the building.
"I hope they play a really good season, especially because the mentality with them has been perfect, also with Jakov Medić too; I wish them all the best so that they can get good minutes."
On the decision to keep Elliot Myles and Errol Mundle-Smith in the building, Clement said: "It was a conscious decision to keep them around; Elliot has had a lot of injuries before and he's now had six months of consistency, so, it's important that we control that story.
"He's a very talented young boy but his body still needs to develop.
"With Errol, he can make more steps here in the club and then we can make an evaluation."
Following news in the last 24 hours about potential investment interest from actor Hugh Jackman, Clement was asked to share his thoughts on the story.
"It's important that people like him can give another boost to the club.
"If global fans are engaged in the club and you get more fans from all over the world, that can be an important thing for the club to grow.
"I have heard from the owners that he is a really big fan of the club and you've seen it with other clubs how much it helps to have that extra support."
Reflecting on the Canaries' opening few games of the 2026/27 season, Clement shared that although it was not the start they had hoped for, he felt the squad would reap their rewards soon.
"Performance and results have clearly not been balanced.
"We need to look forward and to the next game again.
"What I know, after more than 30 years of coaching, is that if you keep up the consistent performances, results will follow.
"I'm still gutted after the game and the day after but then you need to look deeper in what happened.
"Playing that game at Stoke, if we would have won that one, you'd say we saw a really good Norwich, but that's the difference.
"If we score our two best chances it changes everything.
"Stoke tried to press like Millwall but they were not successful because we were good on the ball.
"We still need to integrate new players; it was Darlin Yongwa's first start so it was not as fluid as it could have been.
"Andre Brooks is a new player and this is the first time he has played against that kind of system with us, same as Anthony Musaba.
"We need to learn lessons about these positions.
"In the weeks to come we will get better and better the more games we play."
Clement spoke warmly of his counterpart for this weekend, Chris Wilder, confirming he was looking forward to the match against Sheffield United.
"I like Chris and the time we get after the game.
"He is a really good manager, a good person with a clear style of play.
"They're direct, aggressive and they have two good strikers and wingers who they focus on for their attacks.
"They have a strong midfield and are a robust defensive team.
"Chris is always someone who makes his team work hard, so we know it's going to be a tough fight like the two games we played last season.
"He loves football, he is passionate and I am also passionate about football, so that's a match.
"It's a really nice part of football in the UK, that you can be heated on the sideline but five or 10 minutes after the game you need to respect each other.
"We are all living in this crazy world of football and we need to share this passion.
"Of course, we want to give the fans something to travel for, we want to get that feeling back from some of the away days from last season."
