Norwich City head coach Philippe Clement confirmed there would be some absences from the squad against Southampton following last weekend's Sky Bet Championship outing and gave an update on injuries within the squad.
"I don't want to say too much about the squad as I don't want to make our opponents too smart but for sure we will miss one or two out of the squad from the last game.
"Gabe Forsyth is getting better and he is back outside with the physios training.
"He had a small backwards and everybody is really working safely with him, so when he feels something, all the alarms go off after the last two years, but there has been a scan and there is nothing to worry about, so it's about building him back up to get back in the sessions and with the Under-21s.
"Mirko Topić has been doing sessions with us now for the past two weeks and he is going to play on Friday in the Under-21s game. It'll be a big day for him and he's looking forward to that against West Ham.
"Those guys have been out at least six months, so when they come back you cannot expect them to be at their best like before.
"Jovon Makama is also an example of that, coming back step by step and with Ante Crnac it is the same, but of course we are not in a pre-season where we can give chances just to get rhythm.
"The priority stays Wednesday and Saturday."
The head coach reflected on the Canaries' away defeat to Swansea last weekend, confirming that the squad was frustrated but already looking forward.
"I think it's important not to keep on going back over it but everybody was really disappointed after the game, the players had really good physical stats but that doesn't always get you results and that's what we miss for the moment.
"Fans see the perception of the team totally different; if we scored we would have been resilient against top of the league but instead it's 'we lost another game'.
"The most important thing in football, in sports and in life is how we react after failure and that's what we are working on.
"We are happy to be back at Carrow Road with our fans behind us.
"I know I used the word a lot in the beginning when I came: synergy, that's what I want to see tomorrow to help the fans and players.
"There is no Kenny (McLean) for the moment, so other people need to take responsibility on the pitch and also take the right lessons out of those experiences.
"I see the talent, I see the effort they want to make and how desperate they want to get a result, so it 's about guiding them now.
"We know the past now is about all the next games to come, to raise our levels, push our luck, get a good momentum and drive.
"Southampton is a tough challenge; for me they are in the top three best teams in the league this season, but I am confident about this group that we can do that in 90 minutes.
"If everybody shows their best level and the fans get behind the team and show the roar at Carrow Road, we can do something really special.
"It starts on the pitch with showing bravery and heart and then I know our fans will follow.
"We need to be good all over the pitch, good in our organisation, our pressing, good on the ball, create the right spaces and chances and play the football we want to see, offensive dominant football out of a good structure."
