Norwich City Under-21s maintained their unbeaten start to the PL Cup, coming from behind to take a point against joint leaders Bristol City at the Avant Training Centre.
Marley Thelwell had given the visitors the lead after just 30-seconds, but the Canaries responded well and their pressure was rewarded when substitutes Botan Ameen and Toby Chilvers combined to draw City level.
Lead coach Olly Lee made four changes to the side that beat West Ham 4-2 on Friday night, with Rylee Mitchell and Theo Adelusi returning to the starting XI following injury, while Reuben Cooper and Errol Mundle-Smith were also handed starts.
Mirko Topić continued his rehabilitation by starting at the base of midfield, having played 45 minutes in Friday's victory. Defender Vinnie Leonard was also named in the squad for the first time since joining the Canaries from Dundalk in July, having recovered from injury.
City made the worst possible start, falling behind with just 30 seconds on the clock as Marley Thelwell got in behind Vatan Özcan before sliding the ball past Mitchell.
The Canaries responded positively, with Mundle-Smith breaking forward before seeing his effort blocked. The winger continued to pose a threat, later testing Isaac Finch, before Luke Towler forced the Robins' goalkeeper into an excellent diving save.
City continued to push for an equaliser as the first quarter of an hour approached, with Topić the latest to test Finch, seeing his long-range effort beaten away by the visitors' stopper.
As half-time drew nearer, Mundle-Smith remained City's most dangerous attacking outlet, using his pace to trouble the visitors' defence.
However, it was Mitchell who produced the standout moment of the half in stoppage time, getting down smartly to deny and hold onto Luke Skinner shot after the winger had beaten City's offside trap.
Midfielder Alan Domeracki was introduced at half-time, replacing Mirko Topić in a pre-planned change.
Lee’s side picked up where they left off in the first half, maintaining their intensity as they searched for an equaliser. Crosses from Elliot Myles and Glossop caused problems in the visitors’ penalty area, but the Robins’ defence held firm.
Vinnie Leonard made his first appearance in yellow and green as he was introduced alongside Botan Ameen and Toby Chilvers, with Lee looking to freshen things up and find a way back into the game.
The Canaries’ pressure was finally rewarded in the 71st minute, as substitutes Botan Ameen and Toby Chilvers combined to restore parity. Ameen drove down the right before cutting the ball back to Chilvers, who showed composure to slot into the bottom corner.
Mitchell again produced a great save eight minutes later to deny Ephraim Yeboah from restoring the visitors' lead.
In a final roll of the dice, Luke Chukwu was introduced in place of Luke Towler, however neither side were able to find the winner.
Olly Lee's side are back in action on Monday night as they travel to Pride Park to face Derby County in PL2.
