Women's Preview | Middlesbrough v Norwich City

Drew Wilson

Norwich City Women are back on the road this weekend to face Middlesbrough Women in the Northern Premier Division.

The match takes place at Stockton Town Football Club on Sunday, October 11 (KO 2pm).

City travel up north following a 3-2 victory over Loughborough Lightning last weekend, thanks to a brace from Grace Riglar and another goal from Holly Kennard.

The win moved the Canaries up to sixth in the table, joint on points with Liverpool Feds.

The Opposition

Despite picking up a win in the second week of the 2026/27 campaign, Boro have had a difficult start to their second consecutive season in Tier 3.

Having been narrowly defeated by Boldmere St Michaels on August 16, the Reds looked to be up and running the following week with a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Turning their attention to the FAWNL League Cup, Boro topped Group V with wins against Sunderland PGA and Chester Le Street and a 0-0 draw against Durham Cestria.

Another close league tie followed against Derby County, ending in a 1-0 loss on the road.

Their following three league fixtures also ended in defeat to Rugby Borough, Liverpool Feds and Peterborough, but Joe Lillie's side only conceded four goals in those ties.
