Norwich City Women put on an emphatic performance in their final FAWNL Cup group game to beat Stevenage 5-1 at The Nest on Sunday afternoon.
Zofia Szczech and Bryony Brodie opened their accounts with their first goals for the club since signing in the summer, whilst Lauren Hailes was on target with a wonderful strike early in the second half.
Faith Harrison was then at the double to seal the win.
The win leaves the Canaries top of Group G and means they will advance to the first knockout round of the cup competition.
Perry Northeast rotated his side that drew 1-1 to Stoke City last weekend, making six changes in the final group stage game of the FAWNL Cup.
Poppy Irvine made her first competitive start for the club in goal, while Szczech came into the back line and Sienna Booty and Brodie returned to midfield.
Harrison shifted to the wing, with Hailes leading the line.
Norwich's first opportunity came through some neat play in midfield from Poppy Groves, who released Harrison down the flank. Her cross into the box looked dangerous, but Stevenage defender Sophie Shults was on hand to collect.
Groves was involved again moments later, combining well with Hailes in a clever one-two before creating space on the edge of the area.
Her strike beat the goalkeeper but crashed back off the woodwork.
The visitors thought they had taken the lead shortly after the half-hour mark when the ball found the back of the net, but the assistant referee's flag was raised for offside.
The deadlock was finally broken following an excellent team move from the Canaries, which began with Booty in midfield.
She picked out Harrison on the left, whose pinpoint cross found Hailes inside the area.
The forward's volley was parried by Shults, but Szczech reacted quickest to the rebound and fired into the bottom left corner to open the scoring.
Booty almost doubled the lead soon after, striking the crossbar after Harrison's effort had been saved by Shults and only partially cleared.
The second half burst into life as three goals were scored in a frantic opening four minutes.
Norwich extended their lead within a minute of the restart when Hailes unleashed a superb strike from the edge of the area that flew into the net.
Stevenage responded almost immediately through Sarah Wiltshire, whose cross drifted all the way through and into the back of City's goal.
The Canaries quickly restored their two-goal advantage in the 49th minute as Harrison's initial effort was blocked, but the forward reacted quickest to tap home the rebound and make it 3-1.
City added a fourth just four minutes later when Brodie drove through the middle, rounded her defender and coolly finished beyond the goalkeeper.
Groves then came close to adding her name to the scoresheet, rattling the crossbar for the second time in the match.
A series of substitutions helped Norwich maintain their intensity, with the hosts remaining firmly in control as the game entered its closing stages.
The Canaries rounded off the scoring on 90 minutes when Niyah Dunbar squared the ball to Harrison on the edge of the area and she calmly slotted home her second goal of the afternoon to seal a 5-1 victory.
City are back in league action next weekend as they travel to face Loughborough Lightning in the Northern Premier Division.
