Norwich City Women played out a 1-1 draw with Peterborough United in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division at PIMS Park on Wednesday night.
Eloise King put the Canaries in front midway through the second half before Charlotte Steggles equalised shortly before full time.
With head coach Perry Northeast still recovering from an operation, assistant coaches Megan Todd and Huge McCluskie made four changes to the line-up that beat Redditch Borough in the Women's FA Cup on Sunday.
Eva-Jean Young, Freya Symonds and Issy Moore all returned to the side along with Emily Wallace, who made her first start since August following her return from injury.
City made a fast start and had an opportunity in the opening minutes when Poppy Groves crossed towards the far post with her ball narrowly missing the arriving Faith Harrison.
The Canaries went close shortly after when Evie Williams drew a smart save from Neive Corry in the Posh goal while attempting to score direct from a corner.
Corners proved to be a weapon in the early stages for Norwich as minutes later Grace Riglar's header was parried away following a superb ball in from Symonds.
The hosts grew into the half and looked to test Young when Crista Chetcuti-Ganado lined up an effort from distance but the City stopper was equal to it.
Peterborough went close again when Poppy Brown sent a teasing low ball towards Ellie May at the far post but she was denied by a brilliantly-timed sliding challenge from Millie Daviss.
May had another chance late in the first half when she was picked out in the box. She took a touch and set to shoot but Riglar was on hand to block her effort behind.
After a quiet first half, the Canaries started the brighter of the sides after the break. Substitute Elliana Martin broke into the penalty area and saw a strike blocked.
Daviss was first to the loose ball, bringing it down on her chest and setting Holly Kennard to shoot from a tight angle but her effort sailed over.
City look to hurt the hosts down the flanks as first Martin and then Kennard sent in low crosses looking for the run of Moore at the far post but both proved to be just out of her reach.
The Posh almost took the lead just after the hour mark when substitute Lauren Wilshaw's corner wasn't cleared allowing May to strike it at the far post but Young was sharply across to make a great save.
City took the lead in stunning fashion shortly after when Symonds' cross from the right was only cleared as far as the edge of the box. King met it first time with a left-footed volley which arrowed into the bottom corner for her first goal for the club.
Norwich went in search of a quickfire second as Kennard released Martin in the box. She struck a first time effort towards the far bottom corner which was blocked behind.
The hosts equalised with five minutes to go when substitute Steggles rose highest from a corner to nod in from close range.
The Canaries pushed for a late winner as Symonds tried her luck with a free kick from distance in stoppage time but her strike sailed over.
The final whistle soon followed and the points were shared.
City and Peterborough face off again on Sunday, this time in the first round of the FAWNL Cup at The Nest.
