Darlin Yongwa joined Norwich City in August 2026, signing a four-year contract with the Canaries following his departure from French Ligue 1 side Lorient.

A left-back, Yongwa was born in Douala, Cameroon, and developed his footballing education at one of the country's leading football schools before making the move to France in 2019. He joined Chamois Niortais, initially linking up with their reserve side, before making his professional debut in Ligue 2 against Auxerre in July 2019.

Yongwa went on to establish himself at Niort, making 73 appearances for the club across all competitions during a three-year spell. His performances earned him a move to Lorient in June 2022, where he signed a four-year contract and stepped up to Ligue 1.

During four seasons with Les Merlus, Yongwa made 97 appearances in all competitions, including 59 in Ligue 1. He featured 23 times in the French top flight during the 2025/26 campaign before leaving the club at the end of his contract.

An experienced international, Yongwa made his Cameroon debut in September 2022 against Uzbekistan. He has since represented the Indomitable Lions on 14 occasions, scoring his first international goal against Zambia in January 2024.

Yongwa arrives at Carrow Road with significant experience of top-level French football and international competition. Norwich sporting director Ben Knapper described him as an accomplished player whose combination of athleticism and technique makes him effective in all phases of the game.

The defender will wear the number 13 shirt for the Canaries.
