Norwich City signed Ruairi McConville from Brighton & Hove Albion during the January 2025 transfer window.

Born in Belfast, McConville began his footballing journey with Linfield before making the move to Brighton in 2021.

Initially part of the club's Under-18s side, the defender became a regular for the Seagulls' development teams, featuring in Premier League 2, the Under-18 Premier League and the FA Youth Cup.

The 19-year-old made his first-team debut for Brighton against the Canaries in the Emirates FA Cup, replacing Adam Webster for the final 20 minutes of their 4-0 victory.

McConville was also involved with Brighton's Premier League squad on a number of occasions, being named among the substitutes seven times.

An international for Northern Ireland, McConville represented his country at various youth levels, captaining the Under-19s before making his senior debut under Michael O'Neill in a 2-0 UEFA Nations League victory over Belarus.

Three days later, he made his first international start as Northern Ireland drew 2-2 away to Luxembourg.

During his first full season at Carrow Road, McConville made 29 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as a regular member of the first-team squad.
